This is the question i cant find a good answer to, so if anyone has any info on a formula or smth usefull about that topic pls answer. What i mean is what is essential for skill crits:
- high STR ( most ppl think its STR, i dont but its just a hunch i`m not sure )
- high DEX
- high crit rate
- skill mastery / focus skill mastery
Feel free to answer :)

Well its 100% like i will say:

Skill Critical Rate(excluding blows) depends on STR.
Critical Rate depends on DEX and buffs
Blow land rate i dunno (no one nows for sure lvl afects but the actual % and its modifiers dunno)

This its always talking about interlude and CT1 (previously skills wouldnt be critical)

Any hard evidence of what u are saying or is it just what u read in some forum. Believe me today i read almost every forum about that topic and nothing was certain. So if u have smth to proove your theory do post if not than its just another opinion not 100% but still :) smth

Critical rate of skills its influenced only by STR.
Fact.

it won't be fair against mages. what depends on mages cri rate?

it wont be fait against mages.
IDIOT
magical critical its old, not like physical critical skills.

Magical critical rate depends:
wit modifier
buffs (WM2 Siren, pow)
Random (augmentations)
Epics (valakas)

In Interlude with valakas and wm10 aug it was almost 100% (spellsinger would have 101%)
In ct1 has been capped.

who you calling idiot, idiot?
its not fair- thats fact^^.
lets see, ur saying it depends on wit, so if u play gladi on low rate without gm shop and u go pve u add to str, cause u will have to use normal hit, when u go to pve with necro/sps or some other magican u add to int for better m.dmg and to men for lower downtime not to wit. hope u see my point.

u think that sth is a fact cause u sayed that? lmao

1st you bring up the magical critical rate on a fighters thread, we where talking about critical rate on skill not magic.
So i answer you in the only way i can answer someone giving moronic excuses and talking about fairness.

Then u asume that what affects critical skill rate should be the same that affects magical critical... why on earth should that be true?

please rephrase that in some actual language.
What did you meant? that glads use+str and mages use +int and +wit?

So? what the hell that has to do with the topic?

1. to show that it cant depend on str cause guys from nc soft wont make such u big mistake [hope soo ;] ]

2. show the place where i sayed that cri rate and m.cri rate should depend on same statistic?

3.dyes- i mean that glad will increas cri rate any way cause he will have to inc str to get dmg, and nuker will have to decreas some of his main stats [int and men (pve set)] to get m.cri rate which affect that he will have lower dmg/higher downtime.

4. to show my point- it depends on buffs, set, mayb also skills [no1 know if every skill have same 'rate' and they probably don't] and luck.

btw how can u have 101%?

I think that everything in l2 must be following some logic as the classes.I mean lets take PW and AW for example:

- PW has low STR - but he get the best crit rate - to compensate for the low dmg output - less dmg but more crits.

- AW has the highest STR - but he has the lowest crit rate - cause his dmg output is quite nice even without crits.

With skills why must DEX be responcible for skill crit rate? You lower STR to maximize DEX u get weaker skill DMG but higher crit rate to compensate it.
If u maximize STR and lower DEX u get higher normal skill dmg not so much need of crits to stay on the lvl.

If your theories are right and ncsoft made skill crit rate deppend on higher STR u get - higher dmg output on normal skill + higher skill crit rate - which is dumb and i can`t believe NCsoft being so stupid.

Than again if i`m right and DEX is responsible for higher skill crit rate - than the equilibrium is at hand and everything is fine. Weaker skills - more skill crit rate or Stronger skills - less skill crit rate. Sounds reasonable right ;) ?

+1

DEX (DEXTERITY)
affects Atk. Spd., Critical and Speed stats through the DEX modifier
each point of dex gained makes around a 1% difference to each of those three stats except at 43 DEX, where there is a jump of almost 2%

mot od the day- "think before u ink" xD

In 2 words , lineage system dyes :
increase what u have more , don't nerf your character like puting STR on SR for example ..

STR = Human/Dark Elf (+4/5 except on daggers)
Dex = Elf (+4/5)

mystiq@ what dyes are you using on mages ?

Since interlude normal skills like dual shot, like triple sonic slash, like Punch of Doom, CAN BE CRITICAL. Thats x2.
The only modifyer on that was STR, wich when raised to 47 granted a 54% critical rate on skills.

THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BLOWS LAND RATE.

Actually no one nows for sure about land rate of blows, tests by ppl on l2blah (the same that made l2p and contributed with l2calc) they tryed with a full dex wind rider and then modified to -dex a treasure hunter (so they would had the dagger with more dex, windrider maxed, and the dagger with less dex, treasure hunter minimized.
The land rate of blows from both of them with the same gear and to the same target werent conclusive. They perfomed over 100 skills and the difference of land rate was non-existant.(minimal)

I dont talk shit i know what im talking about may be you where talking about dagger skills all along while i was talking about normal skills critical rate.

when i have cdl: +4int -4wit, +4con -4str, +4con -4str. why? int for better dmg, con is needed to have more hp [cdl dmg will be greater]. those -4wit doesn't matter cause its better to have mob in 1hit then in two [it still will be faster and u'll use less mp xD ] u also may go for +4int -4wit, 4con -4str, 4men -4wit. ur c.sped will be signeficly decreased but u still will only one hit to kill mob and u will have low down time. i prefer to use weapon with acu* to increas c.speed lil' bit after all.

*one point spended for int gives me more then empower

pvp matters with who [mage, melee, archer, tank, etc.].

I`m only giving an example about what logic the game follows i read l2blah i read what Nyo is saying along with the others diego vargas and shit. They came with some 54% which is only speculation it has nothing to do with an actual formula. Some say as I stated that 48 STR = 15% (an increase in crit rate with 1% for every STR - sounds more reasonable ), some 54% they are all wrong for all i know 54% crit rate of skills more thats 1/2 of every skill crit ? Thats absurd i can agree with the statement for 15% max in 48STR ( if STR is the modifier ) cause the difference is verry low as u said yourself and u suggest that the increase is 23% fr +5 str :) - thats not happening. There is no info about that and these % u saw somewhere are speculative nither Nyo or Diego have anything hard for it :)

About the logic i spoke of since chars must be balanced:
- the weak ones = hit faster, crit more (ex:tyrant)
- the strong ones = hit slower, crit less (ex:destroyer)
It is the logic for balancing the DMG output

I still think that DEX increases skill crit rate but with about 1% for a DEX point . Than again i`m only speculating too

first off, make it clear on what class is being talked about...
also, state on what race you use..
also, take into consideration what skills are being talked about...
if these three facts cant be cleared out, the ideas given would all be theoretical...

dagger users and sword/blunt users clearly have different crit rates...

also, does anybody here know that THERE ARE SKILLS THAT ALLOW CRITICAL HITS...
so, unless the "critical hit possible" is in the skill description, then there is no argument, this skill WILL NOT LAND A CRITICAL HIT...

crit rates is the rate of landing critical hits, and what stat affects crit rates?
DEX is the answer...
also, does anybody here check the stat descriptions?
cause if everybody does, then everyone will know that STR have nothing to do with crit rates...
it will only affect crit damage, not the crit rate...

I think Skill Mastery and Focus Skill Mastery help a lot.
Maybe there's no Stat (Dex or Str) that helps on SKILLS Critical Rate.
Maybe the classes have a Skill Critical Rate Base (Like Gladiators have a higher base, and the archers too, daggers have a low base, dunno) and there's no way to get more %, only with Focus Skill Mastery and Skill Mastery.

But maybe, maybe.
This is what I THINK, it's not a fact.
