i played Ikariam,Triburile,but my stronghold/tribe got conquered by other players,because of the fact that i never gave to much attention to them.

www.the-west.net and www.tribalwars.net are some good ones even if I don't play these anymore...

imo u dont need uber imba server to hold a game like travian etc
1st of all, theres no game client
next, users dont send a plenty of packets during playing
its not so data-intensive like MMOs
and who cares about ping? ;]
