That post shows how uneducated you are o.O
Alexander the Great wasn't greek? And they lived in today's albania? xD
Alexander was born in Pella , capital of Macedonia back then.
And studied under Aristotel.
Lemme educate you a lil...

Macedonia had town-states exactly like whole Greece.
Like Athena, like Sparta, like Corinth and like Theba.
Those city states were having wars with each other.
Macedonia attacked Athens + Thebes alliance and won.
Under the League of Corinth Phillip ruled the whole Greek nation.
Then they attacked Persia and reached India.

The League of Corinth was named Hellenic league.
And if Macedonia wasn't part of Greek civilization..
Why did the whole army use Greek armors and helmets?:p

In any case, this topic was doomed to fail..
since everyone will jump up and say bla bla bla while knowing nothing lol

@Kentavara, no1 said Bulgaria doesn't have history lol...
All Slav countries have history.....

Our point is... The name Macedonia belongs to Greek people.
Macedonia and all the things that come with it.... history included.
Once again, Macedonian territory is split among many countries..

Bulgaria has no history? Are you sure?Because i think it has more than most countries in the world.I think you should ask your history teacher before you post because obviously he hadn't taught you well enough.Just stop embarrassing yourself.Although it's a Greek topic it's my right to post here because the topic is to DISCUSS.Visit some cities like Ohrid in Macedonia and convince yourself that Macedonia is part of Bulgarian history mostly.

lol.... Ohrid = Ωχρίδα and was built by greeks...
The churches there were built when the region was in Byzantium afaik

Anyway...this topic went far away imo.
It's not a topic 'Who has longer/better history'
It's a topic 'Is Macedonia greek'?

And remember that when saying Macedonia he asks about the name
Macedonia and not the region Macedonia. Region Macedonia belongs to
many countries. But Macedonian history (Alexander the great etc etc) is
greek history.

Macedonias lived in today's Albania? What the fack are you talking about? Albania was just a part of the empire. The capital of the Macedonian empire was Aegae and later Pella!

Image

Alexander was Greek just check the etymology of the word ffs! And what you say make so much sense... Alexander stole our culture to go and spread it to the East as Greek and not as Macedonian right?

See?

By the way.. 323 BC - 146 BC , the years when Greek civilization reached it's peak with the acquisition of Alexander the Greater was named
Hellenistic period.

Another proof is Alexander's father received military training in Thebes
by Epameinondas himself. And another proof is Macedonians used Greek Gods on their coins :)

Nothing more to add here. Believe whatever you like

xristos92 claimed that Bulgaria has no history.
marios and rudd44 Alexander the Great might have spread the Greek culture but i'm not sure if he had stolen it.Why does the Macedonian name belongs to Greece? It has a part of its history related to Greece(no doubt) but the does the name(Macedonia) mean anything in Greek?I'll just mention a simple fact Bulgaria consists of 3 main areas-Misia,Trachia and Macedonia(the last one not included in its current boundaries). This was also mentioned at the SanStefano peace contract in 1878.Those three zones are populated predominantly with Bulgarians and they present the Bulgarian ethnicity on the Balkan penisula.

mibustas said that Alexander the Great stole the Greek culture.

There were no countries. There were city-states, which allied together when there was an external threat. There were fights between these city-states sometimes, but they still formed one nation.

European union doesn't care who is right or who is wrong. They just wanna prevent troubles.

And America puts their noises in matters that don't have anything to do with them.. as long as Fyrom will provide them with military bases in Balkans ;)

What both EU and America say does not matter at all.
What matters is what historians say. What matters is what facts say.

There are 2 ways. 1. You find facts and point em out to see who's right.
or 2. You keep believing w/e u want w/o proof or w/e.

One thing is for sure... Greece will keep boycott on Skopkje.

+1 lol America is on Skopje's side. Greece only has some European countries on its side, but it doesn't really matter, because all they care about is diplomatic, strategic, politic and financial behalf...
