How do I receive improved pet buffs? Now I have improved baby cougar and it just heals me (well done, but I want buffs...).

maybe it's not implemented on your server.

on topic:i am not fan of those pets(i had only fenrir and a strider)
but i know how u can get "improved" buffs
the mobs in bf when get feeded grow
if u r lucky for example baby buffalo will turn into an improved buffalo and will buff/heal/recharge etc etc

On Hellbound, the Kokaburra, Cougar and the others grow at lvl 55. You can evolve it.
Then they will heal and each one will cast 2 buffs. Such as BtB, Might, Shield, and some others that I've forgot (there's a list in the offie webpage).

i have improved kookabura and work on a cougar (lvl 36 atm)
kookabura gives me at lvl 56 empo 1 and b2s 2
b2s 2 stay 20 minutes while eompo stay only 2 minutes
improved pet detect himself when he have to buff you, if you already have b2s 2 or better and empo 1 or better he don't buff you but once theses buff fades, he buff you automatically.
heal is same, he only heal you when u have less than 85% HP and more than 15% HP
(i suppose ncsoft implemented 15% hp heal for destro)
