Honestly, I dont really care whose idea it was. The important thing is, that there is someone who messed up L2 and still refuses to learn the lesson.

It is simple. Ncsoft need make money. So partially they use private server methods of using non god chronicle. So based on god core they downgraded to c1+c2 features and open srv

Meh, they would have made tons of money hadnt they changed the build to a huge failure. Also, I think I might know why they started with paid classicd suddenly - they cant handle the bots, and there are logically less bots when there are monthly fees. Anyway, even if Im wrong, its just so funny to see that the actual developers of L2 are the only ones in the world that arent able to fight bots. I dont know how they put up with the fact that every stupid private server bans bots like crazy, while L2 devs have half the population botting.

I suspect that ncsoft not exactly tried to ban bots... I mean those bots are paying too after all. While private servers are mostly free or maybe p2w, they intend to ban bots, at least fort he reason that they can't get anything out of them.

Although I find it kinda ridiculous to ask money for a game that is 12 years old. Oh look now you can pay for the exact same package you already got back then but we took it away. That is stupid, the game is old, the complexity of c1 is faaar behind some of today that you can have on your friggin' phone. Even if you compare it to the recent L2 flashy chronicles with updated graphics and system and everything. They are crap, but it's just ridiculous that this recent one is free to play, while they charge money if you intend to play with the 12 year old, outdated version of the game.
It's like hey Fallout 4 came out just recently, huuuge deelopment team was on it and everything... it's vastly different and arguably shitty but hey you can play it for free! Now should you intend to go back to the roots and old school retro is what your heart's desire, then open your wallet please.

Im also afraid they are not banning bots because they dont want to (though it makes no sense cause real players leave because of it). Though, what can we expect from a game company that made a "game" which is more like labor?

Anyway, thanks for the new view on the older chronicles. I have never thought about it from that point of view. But well, why wouldnt they do it when they failed miserably and when millions of people asked for paid old chronicle? I seriously doubt the players who requested it as they often claim that F2P ruined L2 which is of course nonsense. And I also doubt the devs, as it might have been their plan all along. Screw it so much that people will want to pay for outdated content (conspiracy alarm!! ).
