Let's get things straight. Server did not run with high quality for few weeks, and despite that server did had some player databes, it was not utterly deserted.

Server had problems regarding quests rates, that were not adjusted to x5, and with adena drop witch players insisted to be 100% drop rate.

I don't understand why you make thread with opening date on 10.10.2012 when you make after a thread on you're server with poll on when to start and allready the votes are set to 6 votes for 1.10.2012, should talk to forum admins to modify the date on this thread.

Server in itself, was great, just that the sudden off-lines without warnings, were turn offs, but despite all that, players were checking constantly when the server was up, and there was signs new players were comming to the server, wipeing it... is you're decision alone, because the server did showed signs of improvment, our academy was alawyes assalted by new players.

You wanted big community, but don't lie abotut server quality, when it was on it was fine, but it was to much off line, and of course that made players sceptic abotut this project. Yet they still played on it, and players kept comming, it was by all means not a sign to shut it down.

But, in the current situation, the best thing you can do, is to start the server on 1.10.2012 as you wrote on you're poll, adjust the rates to fit gameplay ( like seductive whisper beed drop and adena reward, like cruma tower 41+ quests, like ally varka/ketra to drop every mob qi, like zero hour maybe altho i did not test that, like quests in stutgart area - frozen labirint ), adena drop 100%.

Thanks for reading. ! but as i said on forum, when the server shutdown this often, you can't complain about server populatian, but be happy that there were still 2 clans active willing to stay and play, and were still new players seraching for academy. ( And other that didn't started their main yet, playing on dwarfs and such )

+1 to AdrianG - server was very nice, and playerbase was growing.

You can't do a total wipe, a few adjustments and a "Grand Opening" on a server of this kind, and expect to get away with it. We who play servers like this are grownups, who prefer the casual way of l2, an hour now and then, just for fun. Many of us have real familie*s, even though we often consider the server itself as family. We play for fun, recreation and social mingling, not to ride a wynern, rule the oly or be a ally head. We spend the first 3-4 months playing dwarves, crafting bw and mj, and, in general, having a good time. We have a broad horizon, and don't spend much time on a server that we don't expect to survive. My last long-term relationship with a private server lasted more than 3 years. And that server was already 2 years old. And it's still well populated, a year after.

In theese chronicles, and in low rates, you must use another mindset than the gm's in the PVP-servers or more modded midrates. Opening day means NOTHING!!!! And you can easily use polls and adjust rates, skills and so fourth once the server is running.

First and foremost, we need confidence in that the server will be there tomorrow, and the week after, and then next year, and the year after that. If there is downtime don't matter much, as long as gm's keep server running, and have routines on backups, both server and player files.

Therefor, the idea of a wipe seems stupid. If you DO wipe, I'm done here.

Do a "rebirth", open for polls, suggestions and make a hype, but keep server on air, with the existing players active and happy on their old accounts. No fear for overpowered chars, I hardly saw A-grade before you closed.

And think long-term. This will hardly be a money-machine. Don't know how you do this in practice, BUT KEEP COSTS DOWN!!!

Good luck. I enjoyed your server. Hope to be back.

If a server has 100 REAL votes that means some players have say 100 times that this server is good.
If a server has bought 100 FAKE votes that mean that no one has say anything. It’s just a counter which shows the number 100.
Huge difference :!:

So am I to understand that you never heard of the concept " buying votes " ? that's kinda puzzeling to me, as i see you're a server administrator, and don't know how things work. You can buy votes, for you're server to be more visible to players, that's how many servers alwyes stay on 1st page on sites like hopzone/topzone etc. It's common practice when advertising a server ...

And why they call them "votes" if no one have voted for anything ?!

Truth be said; not many of the lists on the net are corrupt. Some are, but the majority are honest on this. The way it's often done is via a third person. As an admin, you can get an offer from a private person, or small company: "For xx euro I get xxxx votes for you on xxxxxx list this month." This can be done in many ways.

Using votes as part of gameplay can be effective. One neat way I saw the other day was this: As an admin, you can ask for reports over voting, including Ip-adresses and time for each vote. Make a script, implement it in server, and, voila!, you can put items directly into inventory of chars with ip's corresponding with ip's used for voteing on a certain time or votes adding up to a certain total. All automated. Or you can put a reward into a random inventory to a char with an ip that is on the list for ip's that has voted the last 24 hours. Not foolproof, but good enough.

Or you can take it a bit further, using voting panel; it takes a few clicks more for the players, but the rewards can be more valueable, as the admin is 100% sure the receiver is the actual voter.

Can't see any wrong in none of this, as long as rewards isn't to generous. And admin MUST NOT spam chat with his voting system. That's really annoying.............
