No, it doesn't. The dagger skills, called blows, aren't influenced by critical rate. For example focus doesn't give more chances either.

The only things that give blow land rate are the following: focus chance from the back, focus death from all directions, mortal strike and critical blow. Focus chance, focus death and mortal strike are 2 minutes self buffs. Critical blow is a 10 seconds buff.
Also, pre-c3 there were some SAs, called might mortal (renamed mortal strike), that also give blow land rate. But you can't 'make' such SAs, they've been removed from the options, but not deleted. On some old servers you can still find such daggers.

But since c5 you rely more on Critical Damage SA's.
If some1 will put me to choose between SS + CD and Demon's Sword + MM , i'll definetely choose SS + CD, maybe not ,if it's a C1/C2 MM not a C3 one.

back blow SA will only increase your normal attack crit rate when you attack monsters from behind or from their backside...

focus SA will increase the crit rate of normal attacks, but will not affect the success rate of any skills...

crit damage SA will increase the damage of crits from both normal attacks and skills, but will not affect the success rate of landing your skills...

and the only things that affect land rate of skills are the ones that icarus have mentioned...

focus death gives crit power....focus chance more skill sucess rate....

I'll do it for you this time:

Focus Death - Critical rate -30%, Blow land rate +60%, Critical Damage from front -30%, Critical Damage from back +90%

That's why it's the ultimate focus for pvp. Even if it has -30% crt dmg from front, the aw has crit power passive to compensate, but it's also the ultimate focus for backstabbing. +90% crt damage from the back is huge.

So just to be 100% certain,

buffs like focus and song of hunter, in other words critical attack rate, does not affect the chance of a dagger landing deadly blow or backstab?

yes critical chance of ur normal hits does not influence ur blows landing rate.. blows landin rate is infulenced only by str and buffs adding chance(mortal strike,focus death,chance ets etc)
back in c3-2 times dex affected it(o, 100% sure) and debuffs like hex were able to lower ur landin rate..but its not that way now:)

Crit skill is when a skills performs a critical... Yes, i was confused by it at first too. Some dagger skills can crit, even if when you land them it sais "Critical Hit!", they're not already crits.
