Guess my first thread was deleted cause I had the title wrong. My bad sorry.

Some of you are familiar with our first server L2Insomnia which ran the C5 Chronicle. That server while having a huge population (over 20k accounts in first 7 days) was very short lived and had to be closed. This was partly the fault of the Administration and partly the community. The L2 community today is Nomadic and hops servers that combined with a few mistakes from us, mainly not making sure the connection was stable and not having the DDOS protection ready on time accounted for the sharp drop in population. C5 I guess also is a little old for people these days.

A new Idea a new Beginning

Myself (formerly known as Insomnia) and some of the old staff have decided to open another server. The server will be a Mid-Rate (25X) and it will run through the evolution of Lineage 2. We will start at Interlude and update the chronicle every month or two.

Chronicle: Interlude-->>Freya (Official Files)
Bot Protection: Yes
Rates: 25-35X (It's still being decided)
DDOS Protection: Yes (won't be caught with our pants down this time)
Donations: There will be very few donations and they are still being decided on.
Class transfer: 1rst--->>3rd are free, Skills are Auto learn. Noblesse quest must be done.
Location: Quebec, canada. For Euro players don't worry the routing is excellent unlike with L2Insomnia. We will let you test it well before we open the server. Extremely high quality network and BG Mix!

The server will start as Interlude and than move to the next chronicle after a certain period of time. This will continue until we reach Freya. Accounts, chars, items, etc.. will stay through the updates. There will be no wipes!

Server Specs

The server is the same one that hosted Nanaki and L2Insomnia and is owned by me.

2x Dual Core AMD Opteron 2212s

2x SAS 15k RPM, 73GB HDDs

12 GB RAM, DDR2 667 MHZ

The server will hold 3k players with no lag.

I am sure some people will ask "Why a new site and domain?" I thinks it's important to have a completely fresh start as well as SMF offers best compatibility and ease of use with the CMS we will be using.

As you can see there is no site to speak of. We will slowly be adding and getting the site ready. I am not going to give an ETA yet. If you have questions please feel free to ask we will do our best to answer them. You can expect another high quality server we promise you that and we will not make the mistakes of last time.

Interesting.... So am I correct in saying in 2 months after the server has gone live you will have hellbound? Then another 2 months later gracia part 1?

Yeah something like that. The exact timeframe for updating to the next chronicle hasn't been decided but that is the plan

I had thought of this a while ago but the update rate should be lower. Two months in interlude, 3rd class, maybe subs depending on "nolifeness" and server population/sides.
In hellbound, maybe get some trust levels on HB. Again, depends on population. Maybe u can get chimeras, maybe u cant even open it.

So by this rate (its just estimations), u would reach gracia with ppl in S grade, HB with chimeras hopefully, u reach freya and what, some ppl with dynasty at best, some epics, and either a very one-sided server or so competitive that nobody can get anything.

I hope this server has a lot of ppl, and I wanna try it out, but u must give players some time to reach end-game within that chronicle, and by players I mean at least 1 quarter of the server, not a party of nolifers.

GL regardless of decisions

The idea seems to be interesting at first, but thinking a bit more about it made me realise that it's really not that great.
From interlude to freya basically every aspect of the game has changed.
Therefore I wound't even play the same classes on these different chronicles. (and what if i want to be kamael? :trollface:)

I can see archer clans getting everything in interlude (epics/heroes) but they'd have to reroll when kamael comes. Maybe it could work if the chronicles would come much faster, like in 2 weeks interval.
It's 25x afterall.

There's so many aspects of the game that would need fixing with the new chronicles that maybe it would be better to develop a freya version with interlude setup and start working that.

Or start at Kamael or HB, and gradually go to h5 ?

I was going to say.... why is it not better to start at hb? Or if you insist on interlude... start it from c4.

I played on insomnia and was a nice idea.. anyway this is shit... u will never succeed to make it stable and with full features when is same chronicle for a long time .. how to make that when u change chronicles like girls dress?? make a midrate retail like GF with fixs/offline shop/allow dual box and u will have more chances that azure have!

Thanks for all the opinions and ideas This whole idea is pretty fresh so we are still working out details and welcome all your ideas and suggestions. I thought about starting at C4 or C5 but than we would need to change extenders/protections once we hit HB and it would cause problems. This way we can use the same Ext all the way through. I am going to give starting at HB some thought it may be better to do that.

How long does it take to put this server.If anyone knows how much time left pls tell me

Now that you´ve decided to start at HB u should fix the info and the tittle of this thread, the idea is really interesting and I dont want to play in those ruskies servers, so please don´t give up

I am thinking about starting at HB and still discussing this with the Devs. If it is possible to start from Interlude without many problems when Updating to HB we will as the farther back we can start the better. Either way I will let you know soon as we have decided. Don't worry we won't give up
