Before the Kamael update, the pet's xp was determined by the amount of contribution done attacking mobs. This is what I did with mine.

- From 35 - 40. Death pass. Fettered souls and Ogrees are the best.
- From 40 - 45. Alligator Island. NOS and alligators.
- From 45 - 50. Enchanted Valley. Liele and Valley Treant trees. This part took the longest since these mobs have 2x or more hp.
- From 50 - 55. Outlaw forest. Oel Mahums mostly.

Obviously, there are different zones that might be suitable depending on the class of the pet's master. I had a DA tank that it worked pretty good. I use to hate the mob and stun and let the pet do the rest. Some people found that prophets and/or SE are the best ones to lvl up a pet. I am agree because I try with them as well. I used to root the mob and use wind shackle on them and let the pet do the rest. Heal the pet when needed. Basically, both classes lvl up the pet with no problem in my case, but again, another players found different wat to lvl up them. One suggestion though, STAY AWAY from archers; otherwise your pet will pass away soon.

But all that was the old Lineage. Now, with the Kamael update, pets need to hung in there to get xp. It is not necessary for them to hit to get xp.
I got another one and head to the catas or necros to aoe. What I am doing now is play my lvl 40 dwarf aoeing in the catas my pet is getting crazzy xp. Pet went from 35 to 40 in one night.

If you read the Lineage 2 website, if the master is 6 lvls or more than the pet, the pet won't get as much xp. If the pet is 11 levels higher than its master, he will get nice xp. That is true, my friend is doing the same. He has his dwarf lvl 30 aoeing in the catas and his pet went from 35 - 43 in one night. He played almost the same time I did.

Personally, this is working great for me, but if there is someone else that wants to give me tips, they are welcome to do it.

Good luck with your hatchling.

Buy him a weapon, and use pet shots, Tamk the mob and let the lizard do the killing.
U can go for High lvl mobs but u need a tank to keep them agro.

the best to up your pet is using a necro or a bishop
necro => anchor, let the pet kill the mob
bishop => hold undead => let the pet kill the mob
bishop can gives some basic buff to your pet
you can also gives potion to your pet, just put it in your inventory and right click on it

baby pets don't need to hit a mob, they just need to be summoned and follow you
take car, pets are "aggro magnet"

for star hatchling, se and pp are really good to, star magic skill have 400 range so you can just root a mob and let your pet hit him hard

summoners may hlp nicely too and warlock is the best (due to his binding cubic)

with tank, you will xp your pet slower but it's still correct

if you play on offie, CT1 don't matter any more if your pet hit or not a mob, wolfs, hatchling and striders now get xp from you and don't need to hit (baby pet like XP)

You mustn't hit the mob... let the hatchling kill it... it will gain more xp and will grow faster

I lvld hatch of star too with SE:P
Wild stun actually stuns rarely, coz it has 0.15 base land rate and with the pets usual str and the hatch's patk it will hardly succeed.
To compare the stun to someone, there's the dwarf. Both shocks' land rates are 0.50 and it hardly works even if you're dyed. Maybe with a decent equip.

Still hardly, I had a BH clanmate who was lvlin wind with max equip and there were 1 or 2 times that he could stun, so he stopped using it.
15% chance of stun with 40str and hatchling wep is extremely low. While even a C-grade BH with war axe, 50% stun [stun attack/hammer crush], +4str can stun a mob about 1/3. So it's like just a special animated hit, but the only maybe useful skill is the wild defense.

While star hatchling with acumen/empo3/wm2 and root will own mobs for good.

i dont agree.. better is prophet/se they have healing potential(ofcourse se is better healer) and great buffs(ofcourse the pp is great buffer)
