I urge you to try this server, the mods have put some great effort to make it run so stable. It's the only decent HF low rate at the moment.

Yeah, I saw from Brom's signature, that he is Taygetus :) Anyway, would be interested where you're moving now, since the server is shut down. And also, joining your clan, because that's the kind of community that I'd like to have.

Im just a little hanging, trying to hear from piotress if he'll shoot a new server in few days or not.
It's always good to play in a server, where admin knows how to deal with core/server/network related problems.
But however, if you find a retail like server, where admin is promising, I will be interrested.
I still have an account in frintezza, and my friends who left frintezza, that I used to play with have started in l2cerberus, I think I'm not gonna start there though.

Hey,

I dont know if I will play l2 soon because I got a bit frustrated with what happened, but it was hardware failure it could not be prevented. Server management was bad though. Server was just starting to be interesting and then...ATM I haven't seen a server that interests me...If you guys find a good one let me know :)

I was incredibly frustrated when OVH informed me of the hard drive failure on my server rack and that there was no chance in salvaging the data. All I could see in my mind was almost three months of time and work shot to hell in a few moments, naturally I was pissed.

I was discussing the matter of re-opening the server with the others on my team and we feel that perhaps in another month or two we will re-open. With the sudden boom of new servers opening using the Gracia Final PTS files I think we picked the wrong time to try opening a server.

Players will naturally swarm to servers using the latest L2OFF files so we think that if we wait a while for this new trend to calm down and let people know who we are and that we are still here will help in re-opening.

I do not want all of our hard work and five years of developing just vanish, plus the money it cost to have a web page created urges us to eventually try again. If enough people show an interest in us then it would help us choose how soon we will open.

In a few days I may place the website back online with a new forums board so people can stay in touch with us as well as stay up to date and offer suggestions.

I apologize to those players who spent their time with us, many I was able to chat with personally in game and found you all to be great. We do have the good Gracia Final PTS files as well (not the buggy RPG ones) so maybe we will try that route as well; players can decide. :)

When we do open I think it will be a low rate server around 5x or 7x with a second, high rate PvP server (players can offer suggestions on this one). Another good thing about waiting a few months is that we can continue to develop our High Five system as well as take suggestions on methods of advertising; in addition to voting sites and Google Adwords.

I got the impression that the people who did try our server were impressed with what we had, the best feature being our enhanced Geodata and pathfinding system. One of the biggest thing we got from players were that they tried areas that is most servers geodata were bugged, but in our system it was working. :)

Anyhow, I hope people will keep us in mind and continue to show interest as we would really like to re-open again someday.

Just few words, to make things clear and comprehensible, apparently you are undecided. Those are my personal thoughts.

Low rate players, don't like to change server and they are out numbered by high rate players, who changes servers bi-weekly, therefore, dont focus at the launch date, it really doesn't matter. There will be few players, interrested in moving to another server, and those are your potential customers. (Customer ? Rofl, couldn't find the right word to describe it, but you got it). Also not focus more than you should to the numbers; I believe quality over quantity. Therefore it's a gift that not everybody amongst the customers join your server (:
I guess, you wouldn't like to have a server where heroes do adolescent chit-chat on hero chat, more precisely flaming on each other and later if you ban them, threating you with leaving your server taking whole their clan with (:

Advertising is like a tree. You have there some head nodes, right under the root, they will produce the sub-trees and so will your whole structure grow.
Those head nodes are, the people appreciate your work and the sources you use for advertise.
Important note, if you put a hacker portal to your head-nodes, welcome the botters, welcome the dos attack, welcome the sql injection; if you limit your head-nodes with english people, un-welcome the other ethnicity l2 players. And so, on.

An Instance of head nodes;
- Alex , John, Google-Ads, pmfun, freenode, ragezone, gamesites200.
Head nodes will initialize the process.

Just my 2 cents,

A possibility would be to open as a low rate GF server around 5x as you said. At the same time you continue developing your High-Five core and at the course of 5-6 months, or when the H5 core reaches an acceptable level of working features you migrate the server database to H5. This will make sure that the server will already have a high lvl player base and economy when the migrate happens. And since Hi5 is more friendly chronicle to new players, catching up to the high lvl players will be easier since xp will be faster. This is just a thought :)

No wonder, server economy will take damage during the chronicle change.
Prices will blow, not to mention that skills will change.
I would rather not do such a major change.

gf pts files and freya scripts are flying over the internet atm, thats why a lot of gf off servers were opened lately
you could use those files to improve your server if you didnt do that yet
just a thought
