Do not attempt them if you get mad when you die, they are like mini raids, but if you can kill them or have some friends with you who can help, then they are extremely worth it.

Location
º The server is a east coast USA based server (-5gmt) but there is no IP restriction. All players are welcome.

GMs
º Presently employing 3 full time adult GM's. Our GM's are in constant VOIP contact with each other, are very trustworthy, and each has the ability to fully control the server. Any issues, either technical or social can be solved by a GM. Our GM's are professionals with a complete background in L2 since C2, as well as programming and database. Player requests are taken VERY seriously and are handled with the upmost priority. Our server is run on a professional level, players are treated with respect, and we hope you will treat our GM's as such.

Donations
º The server owner pays out of pocket for the costs to maintain the server, so charitable donations are accepted. There is a reward system in place for players that donate, so they may trade for items with an NPC. The GM's have worked diligently to ensure that the donation system does not overpower or upset the natural economy of the game. The natural economy of L2 TYCHE is our priority and items can be added or removed to NPC shops to ensure this balance. Any missing or broken items in game will be added to shops to ensure players can take advantage of the items availible in retail.

This server looks great! Lots of attention paid to detail and very active and friendly GM's. Best low rate I've been on in years!

if the lottery wouldnt be customized so it would ruin the economy fast and the boxes would be limited to 2-3 id say it looks awesome

We are already discussing withing the staff about lowering the amount of dual boxes allowed.

About the lottery at this time we think the 1 million per ticket will balance out the payout and actually make the lottery worth playing, where it was not worth the time to play before. If it ended up being an issue it would be modified.

Please understand the issues we face.
1. No one wants to play on a dead server.
2. In order to get people to play you have to have other players.

lol, anyone see a problem there?

The GM staff has done it's best to entice new players to join, so that we can have an awesome 7x rate community. This includes a donation manager, 7 client box connections per player, and other features. I have stated before and I will say again, NOTHING IS PERMANENT. We will gladly change the setup to accommodate our community as dictated by our players. We are not going to force things on our players that they do not want. So far, we have about 50 players, most of which are not online at the same time. It's self defeating to go changing something every time ONE person complains. Now, if you show up to the server with a clan full of players, then you definitely have more of a voice. Our server owner has assured the staff that he will gladly change ANYTHING about the server that is in the direction of, and the best interests of our community.

Please understand that setting up and running a server is a team effort. We have a staff of 4 working on this project all over the age of 30. Our Gm's are very friendly and accommodating for those players that help us get this server past its infancy stage. The server owner has empowered us to assist new players and clans wishing to migrate to our server. Although we cannot give you all the items you possessed on another server, we are willing to assist you in getting your clan going. The owner has permitted the GM's to do the following:

 -offer a clan-hall, first come first serve, to any sizable clan that wishes to migrate to our server that is active for at least 1 week.
 -offer an upgrade for a crafter character from lvl 1 -> 52, (B-grade) with all the necessary mat recs for that level, to any sizable clan that wishes to migrate to our server that is active for at least 1 week.
 -offer 10kk startup adenas in you clan warehouse (negotiable).
 -500 clan rep points per player you bring.

 We currently have a donation manager within the game. This is because we OWN our server and connection. We are not renting it, or leeching off someone elses server, or using shared hosting in a data center. Our owner recognizes the need to upgrade to a better build if we wish to have a 10k connection limit. This is where the donations you contribute will be going.

Good part is that you own the server, so you're not bounded to " monthly payment " on a datacenter, just you're electricity bill.

Bad part... is that you didn't kept it simple. You're server is like a hibrid between low/mid rate. Not mid rate, but not low rate either, as you have 20 min songs/dances ? champions/class quest, you're offering bonuses to clans that want to join .. ? like any decent clan needs pitty bribe for some server staff .

I really appriciate that you use you're own resources to host a l2 server, so don't take my criticism to harsh, but may advice is to consider this a beta, close it down, re-open it and keep it simple, if you're a lowrate, then let it be a lowrate, don't mess with buffs durration that`s a 1st, take out all the customization, ensure that the game is workng propely, skils/quests are working.
That's the key to succes of every server, keep it simple, keep it retail, don't modify the game better take the time to fix bugs.

All the best, but this server has no future . trust me, take my advice, close and re-open .. simple but good.

Retail is just one groups (ncsoft)s opinion of how the game should be. Their are many things in the game that people look at and think (that is stupid I wish they wouldn't have done that). While hosting your own server gives you the ability to change things that you do not agree with in the game. We changed a few things for the better to make the game enjoyable and we are open to suggestions from players to make any changes to keep having a good time.

Thank you for your advice. I will certainly pass the advice along to the server owner. I would like to state that the modifications the staff has made to the server were implemented based upon player request. They weren't a roll of the dice by some WOW junky trying to convert l2 into dungeons and dragons. I will repeat what I posted above, "we will gladly change ANYTHING about the server that is in the direction of, and the best interests of our community." So far the players that have joined are quite content and if they asked for a wipe and a reformat...we would comply.

All of our staff are veterans as far back as c2. We have watched this game evolve and each of us has our own ideas about the good and bad directions this game has taken. We have also each had our share, over the last 8yrs of lineage, of bad servers. These were highly praised, highly rated servers, staffed with ego-maniac know it all retail fanatics. Needless to say these former giants...are no longer around. We have learned a good lesson from this and taken strides to overcome where they have failed.

It is no easy feat to recruit players to a server and offering clans incentives to join is not a "pitty bribe". It is however a good effort to bring more players to the field. We have already made changes based upon initial players input and will continue to do so. However, make no mistake we are not "closing down and re-opening" simply based upon the ideas of a forum poster...who doesn't even play on our server. I doubt the server owner would do so regardless. It was never our goal to be "100% retail" and as an experienced L2 gamer I will tell you that retail isn't that good. The current players have been aiding us in correcting bugs in the scripts and java emulator. I doubt they would appreciate a wipe, and doing so would mean losing our current player base.

So once again I will thank you for your criticisms but keep in mind we never asked your opinion. We prefer solutions in a positive direction to negativity and our players appreciate this attitude from the staff as well.

Thanks for the reply,
1st thing is to clarify something. You should take advantage of this kind of opinions, this enviorment is perfect to evaluate you're server posibilities, and stop using phrases like " we did not ask for you're opinion ", the moment you posted here you're asking for opinions. I find most of server owners beeing in denial about their product, on their forum they say " if you don't like it, leave ", on other forum - see above. So any form of negative input is beeing left and delude themself by only seeing positive review.

Ok, i understand that you customize it, beacause you belive it's better then retail, but let me tell you one little thing, on you're target " market " that's not a good ideea, on low rates nobody wants to re-descover the game. This is a vicious circle, that will lead to custom by custom untill you will have a game that you can't even call Lineage anymore, and for a low rate, is a no-no.

If this would have been a mid rate, 15-20/50x then really i would have said nothing, as those kind of servers are bounded to have state of the crap customization, and players know that, and they're not beeing botherd by it, but it's not... it's a 7x, that ( even with vitality/ freya bonuses ) is still considerd low rate, and low rate shouldn't have that kind of customization. I too am an old player, and i gotta ask you... would you play on you're server?

Anyway, beacause you're mature&responsible, i`m not gonna start a " crusade " and count the days untill you're gona eventualy loose all players, i trully wish you all the best ... but i see no future with this.

Regards

Why does this forum allow someone advertising his own low rate sever with his signature to go into another persons server thread and wish them to fail and tell everyone they are going to fail?

Adi, with all due respect you are advertising a 4x on your signature.....of course you are going to tell everyone else their low rate will fail. I don't see the tyche guys bashing the 4x server you are pushing....so please.....keep your opinion to yourself if you have interests elsewhere as it's bad form.

I've been on this server since it opened and there is very little difference between this server and the other servers i've been on where the GM's are retail obsessed.

The only complaints i've heard has to do with boxes....however retail allows dual boxing if you want to pay for the accounts so the fuss over boxes goes against the retail obsession. If the dances and songs last a bit longer it's the difference between hitting my macro every 3 minutes or every 19 minutes.....not sure how that actually changes the lineage world. I still had to put in time for my DC set......I still have to work for my levels.....still feel like like a low rate when i play.

So since I actually play this server and I am not advertising my own 4x maybe my opinion should count more than the haters coming here with their own server interests and who don't play the server.

IN FACT Adi......you are breaking rule #4 by advertising your server with your signature in this thread......but the Tyche guys were nice enough to overlook that....but since your are blatently breaking the forum rules they definately have a right to tell you to keepyour opinion to yourself which I agree.

he is not breaking any rule
he is free to have anything in his sig/avatar unless its offending-if u would be smarter u would've made a banner contest and place it in ur forum sigs to grab attention
he is giving sane arguments in polite manner

you like ur server so go on keep on liking it,bump threads around forums, argue with ppl that dislike it
ITS BASICALLY WHAT ANY PLAYER THAT LIKES HIS SERVER SHOULD DO

i can give 1000 arguments against customized buff durations because for all the years ive spend playing this miserable game ive seen enough

in my personal taste its too customized but it is different some people who cannot manage/dont like retail lineage 2 servers might give it a shot

it doesn't change the fact his comments present a conflict of interest.

it's the same reason Coke can't run an ad telling people that pepsi sucks.....when you offer an opinion on something you are in competition with your opinon, no matter how honest, has a conflict of interest behind it.

i just wanted to point that out to people that someone with their own low rate is obviously going to say negative things about someone elses low rate and to have all the information before making an assesment based on those comments.
