Free, you can buy stuff with cash but it's just chars which you can usually get and skins which only change the way your char looks.

f2p

However you can pay to buy RP (Riot Points). The only things you can get with these that you cannot get normally are XP/IP Boosts and Champion Skins(Neither of which affect gamepay)

gonna bump this thread, LoL is a good game (especially if u like dota/HoN)

except for the queueing sometimes really suck, I had 6 games in a row were my team went something like 3 - 20 within the first 15 minutes, and it's pretty much impossible to carry a game like that

other than a couple of fail queues - it's a good game

LoL, for sure, hon, maybe.

Hon has an established competitive community. Theres been a lot of drama since dota 2 was announced, but Im pretty sure most of the hon players will stick to it, maybe try dota 2 but they will come back cause they wont be able to stand against chinese dota players.
The ones that will move to dota 2 are the randoms who are bad and wanna try smth different.
