Overlord for EVER

the simple way is soulguard => seals => drains
the complex way is soulguard => change to robe and acumen weapon=> sleep, root, silence(if mages),gloom, winter(if fighters) and various other seals, change to heavy and blunt and soulcry=> hammer crush, attack and steal essence and sleep/cp restore when needed

The playstyle Siradrian relevates is quite correct.

Against a dagger: soul guard, drains the dagger, when the dagger reaches, seal of winter, stun, slow, run. If you survived you are one happy person.
Against an archer: well this is more complicated. In order for the tactic to work you will need heal cp in order to win. Soul guard, drain drain, heal cp, drain drain, when your cp is gone use heart of paagrio, drain, heal cp, drain drain, heart of paagrio, drain, heal cp. Remember. It's a BAD mistake to try to get near the archer. He will run and you will have just lost hp.
Against other mages, you have an edge by your high mdef. You will need the same tactic as with archer, only that you might be attacked with various curses. Only that here you may try to reach the mage. He cannot run so easily. If you are silenced, activate soul cry, it's good to have a heavy armor and go BERZERK, stun him, whatever, try to kill him, don't stand as you had no chance.
Against a summoner, well, slow it's summon and get your hands on him.
One more thing against the summoner... If you guys are lvl 78 (or more in c5/interlude) try to keep the summoner at a distance. If he reaches you, he may use block wind walk and mage bane. So you are pretty screwed, cause he heals his summon efficiently.

try one sleep on the summoners/nukers/archers first to reach them and seal the hell outta them.
oh and about summoner.try sleeping him too because he can heal his pet a lot with no problem.sleep summoner, kill pet, silence summoner/slow/dot spells and own him

If he silenced the summoner, he kills the summon. He doesn't need to do anything else but finish him up. Oh btw, that sleep is generally good only against mobs.

depends on the playstyle of the ol: if you go heavy,go fighter buffs and for light/robe go mage dyes

Hello guys!
I've been playing the OL for more than 2 years so i think i can tell you some good stuff.
First of all...THERE'S NO FIGHTER/ARCHER CLASS that can beat the OL once they are equal lvl/eqiup buffs.
The best pvp equip for OL's is avadon/soes for B grade and
DC robes/BOMT accumen for A grade. In S grade is would be good to get an Arcana mace cause:1) one handed ~> you can use sheild
2)accumen 3)blunt ~>stun 4)higher SSS than SSA dmg 5)higher matt than bomt...conclusion: the best weapon for OL.

against fighter classes..SOULGUARD makes you really unbeatable.
Things are simple.drain them till they get close (1-2 drains :S) then
Seal of winter,Seal of flame,Seal of binding,Seal of slow,Seal of suspension;; (make a macro it works pretty good)For some fighter classes like the SK/AW etc, silence would be good as well. Then spam drain them. There's no reason they will consume your cp...Some archers can damage max 600-1000 hp...
Against tanks, you should NOT use soulguard.your mp will be consumed realy fast and then you will have to switch to another weapon and since tanks..you maybe do really low dmg(according to your dyes)...and maybe get killed.Even against a DA with it's panther...he will never be stunning you for ages....he will never kill you, even without soulguard.
If pvping with high level tanks, avoid casting seals because of magic mirror.just nuke them without soulguard...they will never do much dmg on you.Against glady's you should use soulguard...or you you can switch it on or off according to your hp.
There's another way but it's kinda risky ^^ I've beaten a SK(equal lvl/equip etc) by wearing tallum heavy armor, handling a bloody orchid focus and turning on soulcry and soulguard after some time^^)

Against mages..Things are getting a little more difficult.
More than 50% of your pvp is based on stun.
Well...begining a pvp from range..steal essence has 900 range while surrenders have 600 (vortex has 900 :S) so you can be lucky and interrupt the enemie's first cast.
The second thing you have to do is get close to the victim and try to stun it.then cast seal of silence and seal of suspension,stun....drain..drain..drain...stun etc...everytime you can reuse stun..be sure to do it quickly..You have time to use 2-3 stuns ..sometimes 4.Basicly....If you interrupt the first cast and land the first stun and one of your debuffs land...you are probably the winner.Else...Things are getting a little harder but it all depends on your stuns and debuffs land.
Against summoners....If you sleep the caster, landing some debuffs and killing the summon will be easy. But First of all,you have to sleep the caster.

At all pvp's,the OL has 2 spells to restore CP.One single tgt and One Ally AoE.The once for self takes more time to cast but costs less mp and restores more cp but the aoe is much faster and costs more mp.
I have made a macro and i use the single tgt one. The macro is : 1)/target "your char's name"
2)"skill name"
so,with this macro you won't take important time to click yourself and you'll have some of your CP restored.
You have to think and calculate your MP according to the dmg you've done and the opponent's remaining HP,so you won't run out of Mana.

Self buffed,OL > EVERYTHING that's for sure.

I forgot to mention the Seal of Despair debuff, thinking of a lower OL.Since lvl 78,despair is really ImBa debuff and sure death if it lands.
While casting debuffs it would be good to use arcane power and then switch it off till you destroy your victim's CP and then turn it on again once you'll absorbing it's HP and restoring your's.

OH! i forgot the dyes!!

exp: STR+4 CON-4 DEX+3 CON-3
WIT+4 MEN -4/tallum heavr armor + bloody orchid focus

pvp:CON+5 STR -5 CON+5 STR -5
WIT+4 MEN-4/dc robes + bomt acc/arnaca mace acc

u can not use WIT+4 MEN-4, because he is not a pure mage. I mean he is assistant healer so u can not use this dye. Overlords are a pretty strong class. BTW i have a question, when u are at olympiad and the enemie is a part of the ally, he will get your buffs when u cast them?

If you mean that you cannot equip that dyes you are wrong, just try it.
If you mean that it's no worth fitting it,you are wrong as well. If you check your stats wearing this dye yu will see that:
1)mdef is not reduced much
2)total MP is not reduced (about 50-60?)
3)mp regen is not affected much (about -60 per 3000)

BUT!

Cast speed is greatly increased. And OL's suffer because of their low cast speed. So, it is necessary to wear that dye :>

Hm... u are right i just remembered one of my friends to have used that dye. Does the WC(warcryer, not watercooler) can use that one, because i could use it in C4 on a WC, so i thought it goes the same for OL. They are both green and tall u know :P

Nick, you know something but not very accurate. Ol can't use int dyes because he's considered support class. :)

Not. Lethal tells you something?

You realise that in that time you are twice as dead? You bearely have time to do seal of winter, seal of slow and seal of despair. Daggers crit you really nice cause you are still wearing a robe.

Are you a moron? He won't be stunning you with WHAT? Majestic set? YOU ARE A MAGE AND THAT'S THAT. You are pretty more a stun magnet than a dark elf dagger/archer is.

More than 50% of your pvp is based on stun.

Until you catch the mage you are half way dead. Why? Slow.

Tell me where does this fake poetry comes from? Surrenders got 900 range, good going.
teoskord2 wrote:

That is difficult, cause a summoner drops int and gets wit and men. And guess what, both wit and men are sleep resist.

Gogo self-buff to lose half your mana.

Why tinkle with arcane power? Leave it on lol, it takes 50-100 hp once 3 seconds.

Yea really nice smarty... +10 con right? When you will have +10 con by dyes i am Bill Gates. MAX STAT INCREASE BY DYE IS +5!!!

Man now seriously, if you got no idea stop posting.

Man, i don't know your experience on OL's, i don't know your class but it is sure that you don't know much stuff about that class.

i am not quote every bullshit you are telling out there but i am telling you that you have no idea. that's for sure.
So. i don't know what you have in mind..I'm gonna tell you some simple stuff. There's no dagger that can cause more than 500-600 dmg to the OL self buffed.ok ? there's no archer that can cause that dmg as well.Even gladiators cannot cause much more dmg self buffed. if you don't agree with me,you are just a newb man i don't know what to say.i'm not playing pvp high rate servers with +20 armors and weapons....Understand that.
and what are you going to do since OLs reach 3500+cp plus 6100+ hp....
And with a mana up weapon you get 700 extra MP. enough for accumen+mdef+pdef+emp....this is 204+204+30+280 MP....718 right? Also you have bless the body 5, mental shield. NO MP CONSUMPTION RIGHT? .....OL's have huge mdef so it won't be easy to land debuffs..even with a DC robe, not a tallum.
Next time you are going to tell more bullshit think of it again.Understand that OL's are killing machines in 1 vs 1 and most usefull class in mass pvp....that's it.

MY FAVOURITE CLASS when I started playing was OL. In c3 you used to see an ol and all you could do is run. In c4 it was the necro, wasn't my type, continued with ol, found talent in abyss walkers. In c5 daggers got a slight nice boost and I was still going as an abyss walker. Man... Don't doubt my ol knowledge. I was with it 2 chronicles. I know exactly what mistakes an ol does. Of course, you just call me a noob, but you demonstrate stupidity yourself. What do you do against an abyss walker? Well maybe not self buffed, it's self buffs suck big time. What if you both were full buffed? Think of that. You ain't gonna find too many self buffed abyss walkers, trust me.

well well...I mostly am talking about olympiads...this is where i can fond a self buffed abyss walker.

and tell me something.how many drains is a AW self buffed against an OL self buffed?

Both full buffed,if the AW doesn't hit a lethal strike,he has no chance to win. Even then, the OL can keep it's cp more than 50% full by using his 2 skills. You know, it seems we have some knowledge on OL's.
But you have played c3 and c5. i have played c4 and interlude most.that's it
