he's talking about your 20x serv, not the 4x:)
if u do a low rate IL, it's a good idea to change that 20x to the GE low rate u were planning

less players need dualboxing or high lvl npc buffer which makes some class useless therefore its ruin the essence of the whole game, therefore its pointless to spend time and energy to play on a low rate server like that imo. i mean everybody will have the same buffs (all) therefore everybody will play with pvp oriented characters, in that case i'd rather join an instant pvp server instead.

and you have l2off files and seems experienced, so you should aim for high population/quality, otherwise it doesnt worth it _imo_.

it might sounds weird, but more ppl means less botter/dualboxer (ratio) simply because they cannot 'hide' because all areas are at least a bit populated and its easy to spot+report bots/dualboxers.

idk if the thing with interlude or gracia epilogue is still up ... but i'll say it anyway :
interlude rullz ! personally, i think it's the best chronicle, and i know many ppl that think my way too, and out there are only loll2j.gr 10k xp custom things and donations so u'll not have any competition with other servers, so that means many ppl will join. and it's even greater that u use l2off files.

whats the x4 (IL) status atm ?

Files are still in closed testing mode and I am impressed, will soon get some updates from one of the dvamp coders to fix a few more things such as Dagger skills and Global Warehouse system.

I have decided on the hosting service but have not purchased it yet as it is quite expensive.

Website is currently being coded and is about 70% finished, same goes with the new forums as well as both will have the look and feel of Lineage II. Our account creation software will be anti-injection secure (tested already) with CAPTCHA image and valid e-mail verification systems.

L2OFF Server with good files and hardware is expensive so I have to buy things when I have the extra money.

u can also open a donation system (maybe via sms too) after srv's start .. u know, nothing special .. just accessories fireworks buff scrolls etc .. would compensate all the money u spend for its maintenance, updates etc

Nope, this is not Hetzners as I have found their servers to be somewhat inadequate for what I am looking for. This is a higher end server company designed for hosting large networks systems that require hard core processor power and high traffic connections.

I will not give out the name as the representative I am dealing with is asking me not to because he is giving me a decent deal for the hardware I am getting.

I am not going to just "fool around" with my server, I want to give players something they can log into and be amazed at how smooth things should run. Lag-less castle sieges, no more annoying SS lag and server restart's every few days because the server cannot handle the multiple connections.



I will be having donations eventually, but they are either going to be no reward donations or rewards that have no effect on the economy; such as hair accessories and other harmless cosmetic items.

There is nothing wrong with asking for donations befoer the server opens, but I do not want to risk having something happen to cause delays or problems before it opens. I do not want to take people money and then have something happen and be marked as a scammer, I would rather pay for the initial costs myself and once it is up and running I will begin accepting donations. If I have to delay the opening because of costs then I would rather do that than take people money ahead of time.

I am not doing this to get rich, I will simply be asking for help to pay for the monthly costs of renting and maintaining the server. Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server alone are $150 EU/Month for a rental license and full support.

Serpent L2 is for the players, not for me to get rich.

Hetzner offers i7 which is not compatible with L2Off platform.
Hetzner also offers only win2k8 which are not compatible too with L2Off platform.
So unfortunately Hetnzer is not an option.

The latest Interlude extender is fully compatible with the i7 now (have it running on an i7 here at home), but it will not run on Windows 2008. Since many servers now give you a choice between Linux and Windows Server 2008 most of them cannot be used; L2OFF Interlude will not run on either.
