afaik dc is an extension to java. dc files are less buggy than java, are much more improved on the features that are working on dc, and not in java ...
other ppl know more, wait for their replies :p

l2dc uses same language (java) just its closed sorce extender witch fuve devs are developing.

l2j if talking about the first ones is free source code for evry one use but later alot of devs started taking and developing for there selves meaning of alot clossed sorce extenders to apread.

all in all l2dc = l2j

basically, dc is a team that actually tries to do sth with java
and not just put up a bunch of serverfiles to let random nonames make servers

L2j isn't fuking crap, its just never ever ever updated properly, and since anyone can make a server nowadays coz of all the nightly builds and other packs, its got a bad reputation now.
L2dc started as a fork of l2j, and basically its a properly updated version of l2j, which is being constantly updated because they have an active team.

java is a good coding language without a doubt
the fact that something is not well coded doesnt mean that l2j sux
if i tell ya to code something in c/c++ i doubt ull manage well
exacly as amrx said the nubs that dl the roflpacks and just launch a server on their home pc made a bad name for l2j
dont be brickheads guys and open ur eyes
l2off is not the ultimate l2 platform
nor l2j(free) is
nor l2dc
:D

just l2dc pwnz the rest:D(reas?read amrxs post)

Aint no QQ in the posts, and I remember playing l2abyss on c4 java WITH NEARLY ALL C4 functions working with about 3k ppl on the x10 server :D
Give a java server to proper dev's and then you get results, give it to some home-hosted bullcrap then ofc you will get lol servers, but its the same with any pack/game/l2off/l2ru/nextdev blah blah, if the dev's cant update it and maintain it, thats why it will always be just lol....

Hey at the end of the day, all the big "no java shit", "NOT L2J", "L2OFF" servers out there fail to realise one simple damn thing, that java one of the main languages used to write official ncsoft files :D So its pointless to say java is crap :D Any server not updated constainly will ofc be crap

You say l2j is not updated. Who`s fault is that? server owner`s who dont use the updates to their server or the l2j that doesn`t make the updates and requires the server owner`s to make their own updates ?

The reason why L2J has so few features is because of greedy server admins and mostly because of the private projects of official L2J developers. Instead of sharing and working for L2J, they work for their own private version of L2J. It's a shame. I'm not blaming L2DC, they had no other choice. Share? Why share if even official developers don't give a shit about the project. These guys used to share a lot, but the selfish developers of L2J don't give a fuck about your contribution to the project. The best example if you are interested to look it up in L2J forums are the contributions of a guy named toastgodsupreme (use search).

Please try to understand that L2J is a precious piece of software. Just lots of typos and wrong values, and some memory leak here and there. It only has bad reputation because of the few features it has and because of shitty x1000 server with home connection and kid admin.
