So im rewriting this because it appears my thread got deleted. If i mod found something wrong with my last thread or this one at least send me a PM stating why because nothing was against the rules, thanks.

The problem i have is on the laptop my girlfriend plays on. Shes on a Toshiba with windows XP and all drivers up to date. I play on the same server and i've personally never experienced and never heard of such a problem anywhere which leads me rather stumped as to where to look for an answer.

When she stops moving for more then a few seconds she sometimes will lag out and takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple minutes to get back. Sometimes it just totally lags out and needs to actually end process to shutdown the game. It should be something with the connection settings somewhere since the game itself does not freeze so she can spin the camera and such so its not a graphics type of freezing.

At first i though it could be something that sends out packets, like if her sending connection goes idle it drops it but thinking about it the client is probably sending lots of packets back and forth regardless if you stop moving for a minute or if your fighting right?

She doesn't experience any connection problems normally while on the internet or downloading large files so im lost...

any suggestions where to fiddle to change something that might solve this issue?

when she freezes she can see ppl moving,chatting(doing everything) but she cant interract?
i had the same problem when played wrath(giran center)

I've played on her laptop and i wouldnt think it would be overheating because the fans not running at full speed trying to cool down. Not a fan problem because it will go to max cooling if the cpu does go underload

To explain the 'lag out' better, you can be playing and when you stop for a little bit you cant move. So you dont recieve/send chat, you dont see anyone moving but you can still spin the camera around and press buttons and such so its not cpu or graphics locking up. And then once it catches up it does the typical lag thing of trying to catch up everything you missed so everything happens super quick in a second that happened over that minute or two and then returns to normal.

Well if u cant see others moving, etc then its definetly a connection problem. Check for packet losses between the pc and the server. If u have a router, try to connect the laptop directly to the cable. BTW where are u from, and in what server do u play.
And does this ONLY happen when u stop? I mean, if ur running around it never happens, or does the game just make u stop???

Its on wireless atm so i can try hardwire.

Were from canada, play on raidfight. I dont have any issues what so ever on my computer or laptop, its just hers.

And it happens on occasion when shes fighting or running but happens about 95% of the time if she spots moving more then a few seconds, so no bathroom breaks or dying and waiting for a rez lol if that answers your question razveck

If you are on the same network and it only happens on that wireless laptop, then hardwire it and problem should disappear.
