after a short research, i've found out that this well known process of ascension/enlightenment will begin when the new year hits aka in 2010
the end of the Mayan calendar is scheduled for 21 december 2012 (give or take a year)
the Mayans did not elaborate in great detail about what would happen in 2012 .. just that their calendar would end.
however, there has been no end to the possibilities being forecast by modern day interpretors of what the Mayans might have meant.
these possibilities include 2012 as a time for:
-major changes in human DNA
-an enormous leap in Consciousness
-dimensional shifts (as in Hyperdimensional Physics and/or Superstrings), the cessation of linear time
-an evolutionary human pinnacle
-a huge surge and multiple breakthroughs in technology
-the end of money
-massive genetic mutations (the good news!)
-massive earthquakes and volcanic activity due to sunspot activity and unique planetary alignments (as discussed in Jupiter's Dance)
-a serious, altogether-too-close encounter with a Near-Earth Objects member
-a cosmic alignment of our solar system with the plane of our Galaxy, the Milky Way. the latter represents the end of a 25,920 year cycle -- a cycle based on the Precession of the Equinoxes)
all these effects will bring new symptoms like hard migraines, changing sleep patterns, feeling tired after u get up, sudden waves of emotion etc etc.. there are already many ppl (including me) who have some of these symptoms
in fact, the 2012 year doesn't mean the "end of world" .. atm we are "between 2 worlds/dimensions" .. 2012 means the beginning of a new/much better world .. our evolution
in conclusion, the whole humanity will evolve in smth new, more powerful

in 2000 if i remember well people taught that the Apocalypse will come,i too don't believe in 2012 phenomenon.

i had a book about Nostradamus's prophecies from 1996(my father ordered it from Bucharest) and when i was around 12 years old i found it and read some of it.at one chapter was a prophecy that somethimes in 1999 a shining UFO will appear on the sky as a second sun and world will enter in to a new age.i never saw a UFO on the sky in 1999 and we are not in a golden age(at least in Romania we are still under a masked comunism regim).Believe what you want but i can't belive in Gods and propechies that are based on phenomena that people didn't understood in their times.Mayans were smart people,but not as smart as they are depicted cuz if they were that smart when spaniards camed the would not have fought with carved onyx stones as axes and wooden shield agains guns and cannons.And if they were smart then they would have known that horse is a animal not a divine animal that is rode by "white gods".
