Ok. before i begin to describe yet another of my weird experiences, i just want to say that i am not a nutcase (well most of the time) and i definitly wasnt dreaming or under the influence...

I think i was about 5 or 6 years old, not really sure. But i was in the living room sitting on a chair watching T.V. (in my old house) My mom and dad were at the other end of the room discussing paper work and bills, you know, boring parent stuff. In my old house, the door was on the same wall as the sofa, as i went to go out the door i saw something out the corner of my eye behind the sofa. I looked to see what it was and it was an elf, gnome like thing. Its really hard to remember exactly, but it had a green pointy hat and was about a foot in height. It was facing me and then quickly turned away and began to run away from me towards the other end of the sofa. Before i could think, it was gone. I remember just standing there and thinking to myself why it was behind the sofa. I then went back to the chair i was sitting on and carried on watching TV. I didnt say anything to my mom till probably a few days later, but of course she didnt believe me and didnt take much notice. (well, would you?)
When you're a child you think anything is possible and to me this was completely normal, because elves, gnomes, fairies and all that sort of stuff is real at that age. But since then i have never forgotten it and everyone i have ever told has laughed and said i was dreaming, but i know i wasnt. I know it seems very far fetched that an elf was in my house, but what the hell was it if i wasnt dreaming (which i definitly WASNT!)

This is something i have wondered for years now, around 10 to be exact. I will never forget that moment and was just curious as to what your thoughts are.....ok, now cue the roar of laughter......

My dad swears he seen a fairy when he was 24yrs old when he lived in Ireland.

There are many story there.

I dont know about elves but I HAVE seen 2 fairies im not kidding , i was a young girl and i saw both of them in my room , i was a bit freaked out , i didn't know they existed and no i wasnt dreaming , and what happened next i will keep a secret i'll take it to my grave , ill never tell a sole : )

I spent three weeks in the Yucatan Peninsula in the summer of 2003, I think, and someone on the trip, who I actually am not too fond of, said she had seen a small child with bright eyes walk up to her in the woods when she was waiting to use the bathroom. She didn't make a big deal out of it and was just mentioning it to a friend when one of our tour guides over heard her and said that she had seen an Alux. She's a strange girl but she's not crazy and she isn't someone who cries for attention. She hadn't heard of the legends before seeing the thing she saw and she didn't get a good look at it because she said it disappeared. She had said previously and afterward that she was part indian and that her grandmother was a shaman at some point and that she had a history in her family of people predicting births and things. She seemed really nonchalant about the whole thing as if she didn't really care, so either she really enjoys lying just for the sake of it or she saw what she saw and didn't want to make a fuss of it.

Well, they recently unearthed skeletons of "hobbit-sized" people on an island somewhere in the far Pacific.

Gnomes and the like are all called Nature People, and they do exist. As a child I would often see them running through the house. When they noticed me noticing them, they would stop and stand still, waving and smiling at me. I found that I could only see them peripherally; when I looked directly at where they were, they were gone. I would spend several minutes moving my head and eyes slowly about, trying to determine the best viewing angle. All the while, they would stay in place, patiently waiting for me to tire, as I inevitably did. The frustration of not being able to look right at them and clearly see their tantalizing details is fresh to this day.

I don't know about elves...but gnomes...kinda...

the thing i really beleive in are goblins, i live near the edge of the city so behind my house is a river and a forest. I've seen things in the woods that i cant really explain.
Well they're abbout 4 feet tall...well the best way to describe them is golem off of the lord of the rings, but they're eyes aren't as big and they have brown skin that is shiny but it looks more scaly then wet.
I see them all around my side of town late at night. They are fast runners and can jump considerable distances.

Gnomes and elves ... I don't know where the Gnomes came from, but the elves are based on the Alvar of Norse Myth (possibly people who lived in the Germanic forests millennia ago).

I've seen things in the northern parts of this state of wisconsin that i can't account for with any other type of creature known to inhabit the area. And besides, though i love science, it's taking away all the mystery of life. It would be too sad if they didn't exist.
