Wth is going on? All new projects dying. Some old servers left with fake online counts or full of shops what the fuck is going on? Every server i join dies of a diffrent reason.

lineage is not what it used to be anymore ... and with so many new servers and so many ppl loosing interest in this game it's kind of a natural thing to happend ... servers can't stay up for just a handfull of players ... it's not worth it for the owners

It is way to easy to run a server these days. Such a huge amount of 1/2 assed servers that are corrupt, close after a week, get hacked...the list goes on. I know of many people that are just tired of looking for a good server so they quit playing. Blame these kids lookin for a quick buck or to win at Pvp for once.

But it is not dead. Take my server for example which I just seriously started advertising a week ago. The community is exploding. Why? Because myself, my staff, our files, and our support all have a long history in the L2 Private server community and are proven so people know we are for real. So L2 is not dead people just need to know that the server is for real.

Both. As insomnia said, I think its a mix of players quiting (and not many new players starting) and dumb admins with fail servers

Lame community joins lame servers which are held by lame staff.naturally those svs live max one month
So its not one sided process imo
If nobody would like those famous mr svs with full buffs and mppots that pop everyday out of nowhere and die after a week,they wouldnt go live so frequently

Community ain't dead, these zerg of IL servers was high populated, but admins fail and fail and fail...

But it's true that communities are dumb, show me pvp server with mp pots and all shits in gm shop for free and with nice and skilled people

Well from the expirience of me and my friends (most of them quit l2) the reason is rly simple-every new chronicle is basicly the same old story...new set added and new old stuff that change nothing. Its normal ppl to get borred of doing same thing you know. About servers I think ppl look for a bit higher rates now days and most of the servers bellow x10 are allmost doomed (few projects are still trusted and hardcore players are happy to join there but that wont last forever) So according to me if in max 2 chronicles NC soft doesnt make a miracle and fix l2 game is totally doomed

I play l2 for the ppl i do it,not for tne game itself/ofc i do it only in decent svs or atleast decent servidors/

Actually the servers with nice concept die atm.

For me decent is the sv with proper concept,website,forum,eng speaking staff,donations,machine,connetion,defence,files

Old retail l2 ---> makes nice community ----> makes it fun to play.
New l2(I'm not sure HB shouldn't be here, but ok it is enough decent to be considered as old)---->makes shitty community.... why? Dualbox and the new skills fucks teamplay...After gracia there is more grind than ever and u must play solo or in a clan with long history+the core players to be there.
But now comes the qestion-there are many oldschool retail like servers, why they do not hold 5-6k as it was before. Answer-after the newchron servers u r lazy, and don't have the nerves cuz u r annoyed by many things :"I have to pay 200-300kk for a stupid buff or to find a buffer and watch him how he leaches my exp which is even not much" "Pfffff who needs a pt, there is pagan temple or woa/toi/mos". Well this is the problem for ppl which don't have a decent clan... the randoms which are half or more of the community. So if u want l2 to return stop playing the new shits and lets play old school for real or l2 will fade way in 2 maybe 3 years and hopefully my dream-come-true server will come really soon .
