I begun this topic, because of a conversation with icarus in a previous topic. In my experience using light armors on a tank as a secondary armor could be really helpful on pvp (p.e. doom light, used alongside with bow, or focus/atk. speed weapons when facing mages, it is working really good :D ).

So fire away guys!!!

Man it's no freaking sence using light armor. It doesn't matter, your evasion is low anyway, so why drop your pdef too?

A bow with HEAVY armor, light armor musn't be on a tank understand.

The explanation is simple. When facing an sph-sps-sorc your pdef doesn't matter at all. It's better to have more dex for often critical when using a bow or a dual sword. It is unusual, most people think that is a noobish move, but i have tried it and in olympiad it works really well against those classes. And i repeat: secondary armor . I don't suggest to tanks "go and wear light armor as your main armor". I say it could be useful when u want to do more dmg than usual.

As a Tank u can even go With robe Against Nukers.
For example.

Tallum Robe give + 8% m.def

Or good light Against mages = NM light + 4% m.def and + 1 DEX

light/robe mastery gives only pdef (and sometimes casting speed for mage classes) but if you wear robe/light, it's just to help you to increase your mdef and power against a mage.
btw, bow+UD against a mage is way better than that for me but i will give a try on offie.

yes but your range with bow will be smaller than the range of a mage cast

I guess those combinations can be used in oly...but in out-of-arena pvp carrying 2 armors 2 weapons 1 shield, arrows, potions, scrolls, it just too much and it will take you precious time to switch armors even with macro

ya best equip for tanks : DUAL FISTS + ZUBEI ROBE !!!!
WORKS WONDERS AGAINST BEARDED KELTIRS.
and at oly : you give GREAT points to your opponents.

or you could stick to a decent gear : nm/ic set + hp weapon + drac focus + good jewlery.
for sk only : mage weapons are nice to have in oly when using drain.

In olimpiads all things are different than huntig... for all the tank classes and many other warrior classes its obligatory to carry 2 armors and 2 to 6 weapons, a small suply of soul shots and spirit shots and NO MORE.

i have so much experience with Phoenix knight in olimpiads... Here is my gear:

ARMORS:
Imperial Crusader set(obviusly the best heavy set -.-)
Dark Crystal robe set(+7 to speed bonus and pralisis resist bonus, good against mages)

WEAPONS:
Forgotten Blade / SA Focus(more critical rate at self buff tis better than everyting)
Bassalt Hammer / SA Healt(blunt weapons has good acuracy against those light armored with strong evasion)
Draconic Bow / SA Focu(against opponents that hit and run like archers, and against bishops)
Staff of Evil Spirits / SA Bodily Blessing
Staff of evil Spirits / SA Magic Focus
Sprite's Staff / SA Mental Shield

Miscelanious:
Soulshots grade S x 1000
Spirit Shots grade S x 100(stronger heals)

The last 3 weapons are self buffing weapons... if u go to olimpiad without them u r dead xD
I also carry sometimes a Dark Legion's Edge with Rsk focus as SA to make a critical rate combo with angelic icon, but it works well with forgotten blade...

The point of this post its to show tat carrying a robe/light set IT'S A GOOD IDEA IN OLIMPIADS, but its not necesary to carry one for going hunting or ganking/pking
