Ngl it does look pretty good. But just like inkblot mentioned, the "minimum specs" caught me a little off the guard. I appreciate the minimum specs are for medium settings (not sure why), but it would put my mind at ease to know that I can still run the game on minimum settings with my toaster  But really the whole project looks absolutely amazing, I think it will be huge.

The beauty with the original Lineage ][ up to Garcia or H5 is that I can still play it full screen with medium settings on a netbook, if I was forced to. I can dual box on my main machine with medium graphics from my low end AMD FX 4130 Quad 3.80 with 8GB of ram and 2 GB of video Ram comfortably.

A friend of mine just purchased a $649 graphics card, just so he could play the new Doom. His CPU and RAM were up to snuff. But he needed more video ram. Games have gotten out of hand with Hardware requirements.

I used to play retail with my main pc and used 2 Netbooks to bot supports toons. As it stands now I cant even play this abomination.

Plus its Russian. And I am not even sure if they did only the client or server side. And their sign up looks sketchy as hell.

The only thing I will enjoy from that website, are the game play videos. And they look fantastic.

Maybe the last computer I plan on buying will have enough power to play this game. But until then I am stuck on the side lines wishing.

Thank you GoDs3nD for sharing. I wonder if this is the same project I posted about 5-8 months ago.

I am playing on this server, made it to lvl 23. Its extremely low rate, it feels like playing C1 because all the interface looks like a game from 2001 since it's pre-alpha, and there are no "nice-to-haves" like mail, offline shop, dual box, quest helper, there is not even city maps, you have to walk around to find the shops.. You need to save adena for soulshots and shit like that. But its a nice experience. The graphics look really good, very interesting with the visual filter applied (looks like Borderlands).

I have a high-end PC so for me performance is very good, >150/200 fps sometimes. Something you could never achieve in the old L2.

Game has a ton of bugs, animation glitches, etc. but they are pretty serious when they say it's just "pre-alpha", so with that in mind, the game is actually 100% playable though, if you don't mind the inconveniences of some bugs here and there.

We have a international clan going on, currently we are max 40/40 players but we will try to up the clan level soon so we can recruit more. If anyone is interested pm me.

My pc was 1250 euros and well above recommended specs.

Also: https://mw5.community/topic/197764-prem ... ip-status/

From watching the images above it seems everything is outlined making it cartoony.
So yeah, nah.

Stop talking shit when u havent tested stuff yourself! Not only ive seen the specs but also tested the game for several hours

You can write walls of text as much as u want but that wont make your point any more valid - u clearly havent downloaded the client and seen performance
If u cant afford a rig - that seems like a "you problem" to me
to address system req
I run on medium smooth and on 30-40 fps on high with a $400 laptop
to see the full beauty of the engine a RTX4070+ in mass pvp would assure smooth gaming... but meh u turn down graphix for mass pvp anw... u dont care for fidelity when u want to win the castle

Heres an actual game screenshots from DE village on high settings and a few tweaks for better fps onmy 8 year old laptop with 16gb ram and a gtx970:
https://ibb.co/7dRKJZrM

to address russian server
all important servers that are going strong and are up for long are russian... if u dont know that... welp too bad for you
the brazillian servers dont last long enough to matter so thats that

to address the "is it just client changes or server as well" question:
Masterwork offers a revamp of the game that proceeds through updates gradually and reveals new content pretty much like classic
at the moment 60 seems to be the max cap and Aden is the last city/zone available
classes and skills have major revamps

we went through a bunch of zones and i have no words how magical the game looks
they have done so much work on dynamic lighting and sources of light generally that its amaaaazing
whoever was the designer chose a fantastic eerie color palette and very nice lighting effects
many of the zones had new elements of the sort of statues or magical mushrooms with cool glow as new foliage

finally they collaborated with Dryante who you should know if you are a fan of the game and theres A LOT of new music ingame

@beppie that outline is a setting that lets you choose different graphics mode
- the default one looks best but i suppose to each their own preference and taste. Go to settiings=>video=>scroll to bottom for stylization

to address donations
i expect a lot of pay to progress and im fine with that - there has been tremendous amount of work put into this and i fully understand the team wanting return of investment for their time. actually i am more than ever inclined to buy EVERYTHING from the convenience pack for 1 simple reason:
NCSoft cunts couldve done this ue4 port YEARS ago and couldve cashed in on the community's love
they didnt bother however and P2W-ed the game to the max until it just died
thats why i dont mind hardcore fans of the game who created this port (yeah u gotta be a real fan to go the extra miles here) to cash out on their dedication and techncal expertise.

so when server starts u will probably see me swipe the card for all the premium stuff (also its gona be low rate and i dont have time for that so gimme all the exp and adena boost)

the only serious criticism i have so far are 2 points:
1) their support is retarded - but thats expected - russians afterall....
2) the rates are waaaay too low for a pre-alpha hence im not willing to spend more than 1-2 hours to run around and admire the views. definitely not gona grind on these low rates to see more of the new gameplay although im rly curious to see new spell animations

since its pre-alpha all progress is gona get wiped and i dont have that much time to spend for nothing - ill just have fun and explore when the server launches properly and experience that nostalgic feeling...

bros u remember like 20 years ago how we "wooow"-ed at the graphics and artwork style? explored the game for the first time and admired the the armor sets and weapons? welp... this is not gona be the same-same but very similar

To be fair though, GTX 970 isn't exactly toaster either. The magic of original L2 is that you can run it on old integrated GPUs even with mid-high settings, aside from mass pvps. I understand iGPU users aren't the target audience for this, but considering how popular the iGPUs are, they would be losing a lot of potential users if they couldn't make the game work for them :?

Anyway I agree that the donations are perfectly okay for project of this size. There's a difference between servers reopening each year just for the sake of making money and enormous project like this. I've always been anti-donations too but I'd definitely be willing to donate something there. Only thing I hate are the cloaks for donators (with wings!), not because of the bonuses but for the visuals too, it just looks awful on lowrate servers where people are rocking bronze and devotion sets :?

The software requirements are obviously a me issue. You could have put it a tad more nicely.

As for the project I commend them. But they are not doing this just for the love of the game. There is money involved. And since they will have the only game in town, they will make a bundle.

Which I do not begrudge them, they did put the work in.

Obviously I cannot test this thing, since I do not have even the min hardware. That was the whole point of me mentioning of the specs. I thought that was obvious.

But I will follow it.

Hats down for the dedication of the people who worked on this.
Runs stable at 60fps on a 2018 laptop with min spec gpu 1060 and epic settings. Not sure what the problem is here , game looks decent and well optimized. You can't expect to run the game on a modern engine with 2006 specs. As far as i remember even Lineage 2 when it came out had a minimum gpu req of the 600x nvidia series , that is still a mid-range tier gpu. In 2025 it costs 150$ to buy a second hand laptop to run this game.I hope once they are done with testing and launch the game , that they would continue to add content to the game and maybe take it into a different direction. That would be fun to see while growing old lol.

You can always count on GoDs3nD to be polite  Anyway "But they are not doing this just for the love of the game. There is money involved." - I don't think these two are mutually exclusive. You can do things "for the love of the game" only so much if it's a black hole for all your time. Getting some money back on the time you are spending on it is to make sure you can keep working on it. Obviously I don't know their intentions with this project, but I think there are much more efficient ways to make money. We don't have to go far for example, plenty of servers out there with very little work put into them only to reopen every year :)

Great project, just 10 years too late. Also, there is no way they are going to let this project go live and be monetized. They are already cracking down on anyone that tries to make content about it online. Someone is going to go to jail over this project, so I wouldn't get too excited for it.

So is this simply a new back-end? You can use this to play on other servers?

Sorta like System Schock 2 with enhanced graphics?

That's what worries me too. NCsoft and Innova have decided to allocate 0% resources for making their own servers playable and 100% to ruining others. Though it may help that this one is located in Russia, and I can't imagine local authorities cooperate much in these cases (considering many of the largest servers have been running for many years, like Asterios).

Yes, but this is different from just running private servers. They have pretty much given up on that so far. When you start "building" a better game than the original, that's infringing a lot of different things, and if it gets popular, they have to act.

Also, it's Russia. The local authorities will do anything when you give them a big enough bag. That's not going to be an issue at all.
