Open beta testing

Dear players! We are in a hurry to announce the open beta testing of server x5 Lionna, which will begin on 28.10.23 at 10:00 server time and will last until 29.10.23 22:00.

On OBT there will be a GM shop, where you can get a level and equipment, and locations corresponding to C stage will also be available.
The Grand Olympiad will be available from the start of the OBT. The duration of the Olympic season is 1 hour. Registration for the Olympiad is available throughout the entire OBT.

During OBT, there may be unscheduled restarts, as well as all character progress (experience / items) can be deleted at any time. After the completion of the OBT, the characters will be deleted and the server will be completely cleared.
To participate in the OBT, use the data (login, password) which you used when registering your account.

Open beta test results

Dear players! We are pleased to announce that open beta testing has successfully completed, during which more than 2000 characters were created! A pleasant surprise for us was the peak online of 130 people at the same time, which showed your interest. Which means it’s time to take stock. Our changes should increase interest in the stages, increasing the variability of character leveling.

C stage:

- Monsters and bosses in Dragon Valley level 52+ have been removed (Cave Keeper, Cave Maiden, Drake, Malruk Succubus, Dustwind Gargoyle, Thunder Wyrm) but Blood Queen's will remain to complete the quest for the 3rd level of the clan.
- Monsters have been added to the Devils Isle location
- Monsters have been added to the following locations: Plains of Glory and Plains of fierce battle


B stage:

- Epic raid boss Queen Ant has been added


On Friday, 03.11 at 19:00 server time the Lionna server will open, and we are looking forward to this moment with you.

Gratz on the record! I kinda feel like the L2 is actually ever so slightly growing again after being "dead" for past decade. Imho it's because there's pretty much zero decent mmos to play, so old players are coming back partly because of nostalgia and party because every game released these days is an absolute cashgrab, which makes your life miserable if you don't throw at least little money into it every now and then.

I totally agree.
In my opinion it's because as you said, there is no good mmo these days and most of them are well packaged crap.
After many years of playing on cash grabs server(we all know the names).
Where the admins paid the "top side" that they played for a month at least. We currently have 2 very stable projects. Reborn and ElmoreLab.
The bad stories that circulate around them are another story. Anyway, at the moment they give pleasure of playing to many people already.
The truth is that the average age of l2 players has shifted and now most of us are 30+. We do not want to start on a new server every month. These two projects give people the opportunity to log on in six months or a year on their char and continue playing. Such stability has been sorely missing from the l2 scene for a long time. Without the rat race and p2w mafia l2 mainly from the east.

It really depends on what you're after, each server provides different type of content, different services, different administration and feedback also makes a difference. What i think is 100% true is that L2 is still holding thanks to players' interest. For most of us it was the first MMORPG. And very few can overshadow this experience. New MMORPGs just all look the same for me, no unique personality whatsoever.

I'd say the "seasonal" servers are making a bit of a comeback as well. I'm currently casually playing on one Czech midrate server (won't say the name so that I'm not advertising ) which basically re-opens every year and runs for several months while people still play, and even though I don't know exact numbers but it certainly feels like it has the highest online it had seen in recent years.

cg on the castle. btw. "first and for now the only castle" means they were the only clan to capture the castle or is it that only that castle was opened for siege? Because making all server battle for a single castle sounds pretty epic tbh

It was the only one that got captured, players had struggles with other ones.

Recently we reached a new online peak - almost 2900! That's good news for anyone who's thinking to play - online is growing and there's lots of new content for any type of player, with the B stage. Lots of players, lots of possibilities for socializing and party/solo content, even low lvl olympiad ^^ Who knows, maybe we'll reach 3k online soon?

- The maximum level is 75.
- New locations: Goddart and Rune territory, TOI 5+, Silent Valley, LOA (66+ mobs),
Catacombs - Witch, Dark Omens, Necropolis - Martyrdom, Saint's, Devotion, Captains rift, Commanders Rift, 60+ festival zones, Wall of Argos, ToI 8-14, Silent Valley, Blazing Swamp, Hot Springs, Varka, Ketra, Stakato Nest;
- Added new epic raid bosses Zaken, Core, Orfen (will spawn randomly from 17:00 to 21:00 server time);
- Recipes / keys / whole items of S grade are not available (quests for them as well);
- The Grand Olympiad will take place at: 12.12, 14.12, 15.12, 17.12, 19.12, 20.12, 21.12;
- To participate in Olympiad, a minimum of level 61 is required;
- It will be possible to receive rewards for the B-grade stage on 01.12 from 00:00 server time and hero status from 12:00 server time
- Stage duration: 21 days
