right now I have only 2GB DDR2 ram, I can increase it to 4GB (lol noob) and than can I make bigger my vid cards memo?

2gb should be enough to increase your bulk to 768 video ram imo. And you'd still have some ram for l2.

Look into the laptop's bios, there should be an option about hypermemory or turbo cache.

vista is made for office-comps where you don't use serious programs that needs a good performance
vista even makes back-up from your mouseclicks....
for players, xp all the way
AND, since PC games starts to fail, it's totally useless to go for a better comp and better os....
rather get a 360 or ps3

By the way, windows xp doesn't recognise more than 2.5 GB ram. I upgraded to vista black edition just because I have 4 gb and I would waste 1.5 GB on nothing.

vista have better, emm, i dunno, interface than xp :D

But still, vista 32 bits only uses 3GB, the 64 bits version may take 4GB, i dunno. thats the reason Im gonna use vista on my new pc ^^ w00t, finnaly gonne play l2 with more than 15 FPS!

Well, most laptop video accelerators have a very low base memory, but it takes up RAM from the system's main memory. This is double edged... It CAN reach incredible memories which do give some nice boosts. On the other hand RAM interference is the primary cause of crashes. This was the greatest laptop problem in the past, when hypermemory/turbocache were invented this mixing of data got the producers in great trouble. ALSO, the boost is limited because the bit transport of the video card is stable. For example, the difference between a video card with 256 mb, 256-bit and a card with 512 mb 256-bit is low. A bit of extra RAM is fine, but heh... The diffrence between a 512 mb, 256-bit card and a 512 mb, 512-bit card is HUGE. The card now takes one sequence to fill the memory up, and not two sequences like in 256-bit. What I'm trying to say is that it won't give you great performance boosts. I know that you need a greater amount of system RAM to allocate more for the video card. I guess there's some setting out there (control panel?) which can let you set that up. That's all I know.

Since I don't have more than 2gbs here I'm okay with xp and the xbox360 ps3:P I'm actually amazed that Silent Hill 5 came out on PC, poor konami.... Vista sux, but I'm gonna be interested in windows 7, maybe they finally make something new and not just fixes and enormous back-up systems.

honestly,i better put MacOS or Linux on my PC than Vista,and then i download Windows Emulators for Win programs. MacOS,Linux>Windows Vista.
