Lineage 2 Game PMfun Forum :: Looks like l2dex networx is closing doors

Sad day. Even though i never liked Catalin's way of handling public relations, his servers were nicely set upped.

Having said that, i think it's also possible that he wants to close the other unprofitable servers and successfully run the new one in december, as planned. If this is indeed his strategy, then it's a bad one as people will be afraid to play or donate on a new dex server after this, afraid of losing their stuff if he decides to close again. He should have used RPG's strategy, i think they did it best, merge his servers into one and let it run on a weaker machine so he pays less and everyone still has their stuff. He then could've ran the new server with no problems and i'm sure enough people would've joined.

No matter which option is true, i'm sure dex will be back IF NCshit manages to turn L2 around and actually makes it fun again in future chronicles. Granted, if files will leak also

Mai lasa-l si pe Catalin ca a facut bani cati a vrut el,era normal sa se termine si cu dex-ul odata,9 ani a facut pula mare. Inchide dexu,deschide altu si mai face pula mare mai vre-o cativa ani,ca doar e baiat destept el si stiu ce vb pentru ca acum 9 ani jucam si eu.

Granted, if files will leak also +++ Also there were good activity on dex lately, cuz a lot of ppl got back from other servers or from retirement. There always will be ppl that will get back to DEX, for the good old times and for the good old friends. For many of us dex was the first really good L2 experience, we learnt the game there. I'm not sure, but it seems dex staff are trying to get some money from users by saying they can't afford maintain the server. It is ridiculous to pay 1.5k euros per month to host it. There are many other cheaper solutions. So I won't be surprised if next month they say: "everyone who wants to keep server alive should pay 10 euro per month" or some crap like that.

Nah, they won't say that, it would be suicide. They will probably make a monthly donation bar as Azure used to have (i think it was them). And ofc nobody would obliged to contribute, only who wants and affords to do it. I also believe that a good step for Dex would be to just open a new GoD server! Yes, i know that sounds awful but i think this chronicle could actually work better on privates than on official. Ofc, ONLY if they get the retail files which RPG has at the moment...

Let's not start flame wars here, maybe a mod can delete these 2 posts? http://forum.lineage.ro/index.php?topic=4111.0 it's over, at least for L2 and dex. But i do hope dex will open a new L2 server if retail files leak again. And they will, it has happened several times already.

I've searched a stable and reliable server where to start again - couldnt find any. They were simply the best. GF to all players from dex/wrath!

I really wonder, will there be another L2 server that will last for 9 years? I don't think so, and this is how you know, it was a great server. There were other great servers, without a doubt, RPG-club is great server also, but nothing will be able to beat DEX. Esspecially in C4-IL-Hellbound era DEX was the best private server!

Yeah L2dex have suceeded with Dex and Wrath ofc. But for the other servers, they live only some month, then open new server, live some month too etc ...
