If it servers a purpose then sure. But you are creating these tunnels for the sake of tunnels. You are wasting space and they serve no purpose, but to stroke whatever child like ego you have. And you are sucking Herlitz into this with you.

How can someone not like tunnels is beyond me...

Like I stated in an earlier post, if it is done to keep the conversation going then, by all means.

But this is simply a waste of time to scroll through.

One or two tunnels maybe, but this is simple insanity. And a pain in the rear to scroll through. It has nothing to do with me being a grump. And it is even easier to loose track of what is being discussed. And if ember is this childish here, imagine how this translate to how he runs his server.

Like I stated in an earlier reply, I wish ember luck and many users. Unfortunately I will not participate in this behaviour.

Sorry emberfall. How is your server doing? How many users do you have now? How is the population? More Russians then North Americans?

How many servers are you playing on herlitz?

I used to play on say 1 h5 server and would simply have a system1 system2 dir and I could keep the same files and play on 3 or 5 different servers, without wasting a ton of space. Do you have any favourite servers you play on? Maybe list the names here. Be interesting to see. And what about you ember?

Or is running your server sucking all your time?

@inkblot you definitely do have some valid points, no doubt it's both waste of time to scroll through and there isn't really a whole lot being discussed here, but... Can't help it, it's just fun to build, and since it's ember's topic and he doesn't seem to mind, there's no crime in two childish guys just screwing around, is there I don't think me embers helping me build the quote tunnel really translates to his ability running the server, I obviously don't know much anything about him, but I know he had a rough start but decided to keep working on the server, which I totally respect! As for the servers I play, well I play on several really from time to time, but I don't want to advertise here, it's bad manners. One of them I wrote you about in the PM, and the offer I sent you there stands - if you join, I will help you out with the early equip, I would really like to have a chance to chat with you more

I understand the point about scrolling — that’s fair.

Still, the tunnels are just a bit of harmless fun to keep the thread alive. They don’t bother me, and I don’t see anything wrong with it — especially since there hasn’t really been much actual server discussion here lately.

Also, it really doesn’t have anything to do with how I manage the server. Having a laugh on the forum doesn’t translate to how the project is run.

If anyone wants the thread to be more useful, I’m all for it — post questions, feedback, or suggestions about the server/project and I’ll respond

Wow, thank you sir. I am impressed. As to your ability to run the server, I mean that your humour and easy going, is the right fit for an admin.

If you take things to seriously, you will eventually pull out your hair and get to stressed.

If I get bored I may try your server. My problem is that I am running Windows 7, and some of the newer servers refuse to run on my machine. I'll let you know when, and if I have any issues.
