if OBT is good i will definitely play a spoiler here :D

i still have alot of questions regarding the "Renewed" part and "future additional content" but lets see how the OBT goes, sounds to good to be true indeed

Renewed means basically H5 client downgraded to interlude features with GOD interface as far i know..... about the "future additional content" i have no idea what they have in mind, is the first time i play a "newer" version downgraded to an older version so im excited to join the beta and see it for myself, its l2OFF PTS files so at least it will not be a totally mess like java servers

dont bet on that
there was a ton of game mechanics changes between those chronicles
alot of weakness/resist work there
and last but not least alot of geodata changes

last server i played that claimed to be l2off pts h5 was not very impressive in terms of geodata specifically

would definitely test the damage variable and resists system during the OBT

Glad to see you in the project, I'm gonna share more infos that were posted in discord by Netto so I guess I'm allowed since they are public domain already:

Get ready, a bit text is coming but I think it's important, I'm glad @RumburakKillYourGod asked about it and thanks everyone who replied, I'm happy we have a shared understanding of why we are here. But let me share more info from the staff side.

Sadly, we as players got used to accepting servers offering the bare minimum in terms of experience. This is the main reason we are launching Evo. We want to provide the best experience possible and push the boundaries.

Before even publishing the landing page, we spent time answering two questions: Can we provide the best low rate Interlude server? And Can we scale Globally and offer a similar gaming experience to people in Argentina and Russia for example?

To scale globally, we will use AWS for all our public networking. You will note when you are playing that you won't need to choose a proxy. We use a single unicast IP with a load balancer to determine the best internal proxy for you. This is impossible to achieve with regular Cloud providers. Only AWS, Google and Microsoft Azure have internal networks with their own cables connecting regions (countries).

With this infrastructure in place, we can achieve ˜40ms real ping for people across the globe. Probably ~25ms for people in Americas and Europe.

I know some people may be asking but "what about the proxies that the server I play has that I can choose". Most of them are misleading, they are just an internal network used to reduce the impact of DDOS but they don't reduce ping because there's no way you can reduce ping without reducing network roundtrips, and to do that you need a globally distributed Cloud Provider.

The second question was about providing the best Interlude server. We looked at many different options, we saw that using new clients was a trend, but most of the servers which support that are Java. We are developers; we know the limitations that Java has. For a low rate like we are planning, using Java would be a shoot in the foot hahaha.

Until we talked to the AdvExt team, and they were about to release their new Interlude Remastered, which has been used in some of the big Russian servers for a while, I think we are one of the first external customers to get that. It's just an awesome server. It uses the High Five core downgraded to Interlude. It's highly flexible to support new client protocols. Then we choose them.

The last thing is the client. We've been working on our client, which is a mix of the new versions. Most of the focus has been on performance. The client uses H5, GoD and Classic core engines. We've not added maps yet, given they increase the client size and bring a lot of useless stuff to Interlude, but we will add them as time passes.

The result you will see on CBT, is an extremely performative Interlude with low latency for everyone. And it feels Interlude. We've not added anything that is unnecessary.

Yes, the server we use is quite flexible. As mentioned above, we can add anything from any version without any effort, but that's not our goal. As we've mentioned a few times, we want to solve the problem of the Interlude being old, not change the Interlude to another version.

We are providing a refreshed Interlude, but we have no intent in changing the original mechanics.

There will be minor changes for sure, and we are analysing them, but the goal is to be retail-like. We all know the goods and bads that Interlude has, and because we know them, it's better to stick to what we know instead of creating something new and custom and using players as experiments.

We are aware that it won't please everybody, and there are many servers out there that have changed and adopted H5 skills and other customs and have a lot of players. They are great options.

About mounts, they will have different grades and will follow the same logic that the Strider, the speed will match the Strider level, sometimes Strider will be better, and it makes sense because it requires more effort to maintain a Strider.

To recap. No intent to add or remove or change skills or classes, no intent to change any original mechanics. At the moment, we are going to change only things that can be abused.

I haven't played much Lineage 2 recently, my latest experience was with l2 reborn x1 where i leveled an EE up to 76 but it wasn't really much fun. Mainly because of the interlude chronicle which makes it extremely hard for supports to do anything without party, and it was definitely not the smartest choice to go that route considering i'm mainly a solo player.

I don't really get all the rage about the Interlude chronicle, i find it extremely unbalanced, both PVE(1 destro > 1 party) and PVP, but maybe that's just me. I personally liked gracia final the most, where the only issue was kamaels in PVP.

Anyway, I might give the server a try, but i will definitely be in the side that's up for changes/additions of skills. Some things that i would really enjoy seeing would be: limit Titan ability to over-farm (limit frenzy/zealot effect to HP %), buff dagger classes by adding shadow step (and/or Hide), buff healer classes by adding holy pomader system, buff OL by allowing buffs to party even if not in same clan.

We all know that Interlude is not balanced at all, but still, that's the chronicle we enjoy the most.

As for destros, I really don't see a problem about them. They are pure PVE chars, and they are supposed to be insanely good at PVE. We know how bad they are at PVP. What is more, most of us already played destros, so we don't mind choosing other classes, even if we know that it will be harder to level up/find parties. I believe, instead of focusing on the end game, we learnt to enjoy the process.

As for adding skills, it would create even more disbalance. If you give skills to daggers like SS/Hide, you need to give skills to other classes.

And people keep forgetting, that in Interlude, certain characters are better in certain places. Mages/Archers are great in open fields PVP, where in small areas with obstacles, melee characters like tyr/dagger outperforms them in PVP. With Hide/SS you want to make daggers to be op in close and open fields, which it would be disbalance.

Like in H5, every char has more skills that can counter SS/Hide, where in Interlude it would not be possible.

*The only 2 classes that deserve love in Interlude is SE and PS.

no chronicle has ever been balanced in terms of PVP/PVE
that is why there are METAs in rpg games!

interlude is favorite because it has straightforward leveling and farming path
l2 is an open-world grind mmo and later dungeon-focused additions and obscure and boring quest paths where introduced in G+ to tackle shrinking population and look more like other themepark mmos
so in l2 you get c grade, rush for a grade gear, farm s grade, go fight for epics/castles/etc

in future chronicles destro is still very strong and can drag massive trains as well so maybe you need to learn to play l2 in general b4 pointing fingers

gracia final is not balanced due to kamaels, glads/tyrants and dagger 1shots
instead of farming predominantly with destros, you farm with mages (wow the c3-c4 nostalgia hits) cuz more noob friendly

in h5 its just pornography with its endless farm and shitton of content from previous g+ upgrades that doesnt fit

i can live with OP destros in PVE in exchange to not have retarded kamaels OP around, the boring and unbalanced elemental stone system and all those garbage features like daily quests, dungeons etc etc, this is will be one of the few servers interlude low rate nobox, so all the russians who dont like that, you can leave and stop trying to change the server with RMT, dualbox, increased rates h5 skills, you have 1000 servers like that.
