Post subject:  (H5) Lineage 2 DREAMS, New Low rate PvP mix

http://www.lineage2dreams.com
Luna is a unique server. Plenty of features were altered, modified, introduced and removed. Luna is a server like no other.

Crafted by the hands of the same dude that brought you Paradise ages ago, and Dreams along Luna at a later time, ladies and gentleman - we present you Luna, in all its splendor.

General Information
- Luna has been running on the very same files since 2009. Once upon a time called L2j, but heavily developed in house ever since the dreamers started dreaming, our files have proven to provide a stable and enjoyable experience.
- Luna is ran by a few individuals that just enjoy what they're doing. Lineage II Dreams is not a business.
- Even though Luna has plenty of custom elements thrown all over, it remained loyal to the true Lineage II. More than Lineage II retail itself did, the dwarfies said.
- Luna followed most of the retail updates till High Five... but that's where it completely stopped following. Goddess of Destruction drastically changed the game and we believe Lineage II was far superior prior many of these changes made it in.
- Even though following the retail updates is not going to happen, Luna will continue to receive updates as the time passes as it always did.

Quick Overview
- Dynamic Experience Rates (1x to 25x, growing up as you grow in levels)

Client Restrictions:
- We tolerate only one instance of the Lineage II client per real person. That means, you can only have 1 of your characters online at any given time. *
* Note that an exception is made to the above for your offline stores.

- Skills are automatically learned till the level 40. None of them requires spellbooks and the like except the ones obtained from Forgotten Scrolls.
- Auto-loot is enabled for adenas only.

Mainclasses:
- Maximum Level: 85
- Profession Changes: Performed at Roy the Cat (all of them). This is something we're still considering - it may change.

Subclasses:
- Maximum Amount: Unlimited
- Maximum Level: 85

Nobless:
- The good old quest! ^1

Important Notes
- Features in the list above with no information may not be available in-game at this point.
- Certain features presented in this preview thread are not yet in. They are marked in orange.
- Some others may still require some polishing before we can consider they are finished.
- Anything you come across on our test server is subject to change.

Hunting Grounds
Certain hunting grounds have been made more rewarding than the others. The low, medium, and high level hunting grounds (found at any Gatekeeper) will not only reward you with Stems, Varnishes, Silver Nuggets and co, but also with Wind, Water, and Fire Mantras.

Collect these mantras to purchase Common Weapons, Common Armors, Common Jewelry, Special Abilities, Tattoos, Dyes, regular Enchant Scrolls and more from the stores in towns and villages.

Good to know
- If you're just starting on Luna, our custom hunting grounds are the best place to be at. While leveling up in those hunting grounds, you will collect enough mantras as you level to gear up yourself with common equipment.
- Even though we picked up certain hunting grounds and made them more rewarding than the others, in no way the regular hunting grounds are rendered useless. All monsters all around the world drop something you may want to have, at some point.

Below, the list of our custom hunting grounds:

- School of Dark Arts (Lv. 1 to 10)
- Elven Ruins (Lv. 10+)
- Windmill Hill (Lv. 15+)
- Abandoned Camp (Lv. 20+)
- Execution Grounds (Lv. 25+)
- Breka's Stronghold (Lv. 30+)
- Death Pass (Lv. 30+)
- Bee Hive (Lv. 35+)
- Lizardmen Plains (Lv. 35+)

Raid Bosses
The raid bosses located in our low, medium, and high level hunting grounds are announced when they spawn. All of them benefits of additional drops such as Raid Hearts and Mantras that can be used to purchase various goods from Astrake, the Raid Manager.

Hunting Grounds Enhancement
Once every four hours, one of the Low, Medium, or High Level Hunting Grounds gets enhanced.

When a Hunting Ground is enhanced, all of its monsters becomes much more rewarding and several mechanisms becomes active.

Image

Notable changes on the monsters:
- The amount of dropped Adena drastically increases.
- The chances to unlock a loot category doubles, along the EXP and SP.
- Each type of mantra becomes a granted loot, and the quantities becomes static.
- Their re-spawn time is drastically reduced, becoming quasi in-existent.

Deluxe Treasure Chests
While farming in a enhanced hunting ground, you will, eventually, come across Deluxe Treasure Chests. Such chests can only be found in enhanced hunting grounds.

Image

These chests are extremely rewarding:
- Their content is randomly assigned when they spawn. You'll rarely ever come across two same Deluxe Chests.
- Depending on their level, their content changes. The content is taken from monsters around the world within the same level range.
- The chances to unlock a loot category is 100 times higher than usual.
- When successfully opened with a Deluxe Chest Key, they'll reward you with a satisfying amount of mantras.

Image

Most Wanted Monsters
The monsters that triggered the mess over a hunting ground are more rewarding than they would usually be.

It always is a good idea to go after the most wanted monsters:
- They are the only ones dropping Deluxe Chest Keys.
- If you end up being the dwarfie that killed them the most, you'll receive an additional reward - the Hunter Treasure Sack.

Mini Raids
By killing the most wanted monsters, you may awaken the mini raids. Mini raids strength, along the reward given for taking them down, grows depending on the amount of opponent they have.

Do not be afraid of challenging the mini raids.:
- Similarly to the Deluxe Chests, the mini raids drops are assigned dynamically and randomly every time they spawn.
- The chances to unlock a loot category is 10 times higher than usual.
- For each player that participated in taking down a mini raid, a Deluxe Chest spawns. Chests are protected and open-able by their respective owner only till up to 2 minutes after their spawn.

Stores
During your journey on Luna, you'll need boots. To run around. Gloves too, to protect your hands when the time come to hit on something, damn hard, with that fat sword you'll also need.

That's when our stores and their merchants come into play. From No-Grade to S-Grade - they have it all! there's a trick though - they are only selling Common Gears. If you're looking for the top notch gears, our merchants definitely aren't the ones you should consult.

Schedules
A mini game takes place once every hour. 10 minutes registrations, 20minutes play-time and a 30minutes break.

Ranks
Further information will be released on this shortly.

Rewards
While playing mini games, you will be rewarded with 1 Medal (2 if you are on a kill streak) for every player you kill. Additionally to the rewards collected by killing players, you will also receive rewards depending on how well you did when the mini game ends.

Use the medals collected in mini-games to purchase dices from Lorain.

Sweet Spawn System
Not only we have a lot of maps for our mini games - we also have a lot of spawns!

The sweet spawn system sends the first team/player somewhere randomly in the zone the mini game is taking place in, and then spawn the rest nearby, all that while ensuring not too many players gets too close to each other along making sure no player feels lonely.

Enemies Position Indicator
It's been at least 10 seconds since you last shed blood? wondering where's the next orc hiding at? wonder no more!

During any of the mini game, if you ever wonder where's the most action happening - just open up your map. The position of enemies is displayed and refreshes once every 10 seconds.

Non Stop Action
If you end up in a very lonely place or haven't been fighting for more than 60 seconds, Lorain will teleport you where the action is happening.

Coliseum Balcony:
How about taking Lorain out for a walk to the Coliseum Balcony?

Image

Upon entering the Coliseum Balcony, one of the two available modes is picked up at random.

Classic Mode
3 chests spawns in front of you. 2 of them are empty, the other one contains a reward. Pick the right chest and you'll be given two choices: get away with a reward matching your skills in finding the chest, or continue hunting chests.

For each successful finds, you'll be given an additional "life". A life is drained when you pick an empty chest. You start with 0 lifes which means if you fail to pick the right chest on the first try - you're out.

Hardcore Mode
The hardcore mode works the same way as the classic mode, more or less:
- No such thing as lifes. If you fail to pick the right chest, you're out.

The reward increases if you go over 4 chests found. For the 5th, you end up with a Clover Dice (for finding 4 chests) and a Heart Dice (for the 5th chest). For the 6th, you additionally get the Diamond Dice. 7th, the Spade Dice. And 8th, a second Clover Dice.

Rewards
When you find the right chest(s), you can stop hunting for chests and get away with a reward.

Depending on the amount of chests found, the reward gets better:
- You'll receive 1 Heart Dice for finding 1 chest.
- You'll receive 1 Diamond Dice for finding 2 chests.
- You'll receive 1 Spade Dice for finding 3 chests.
- You'll receive 1 Clover Dice for finding 4 chests.

Floran Village:
From the moment you become a chaotic character, you're not safe to end up in Floran Village. Ohhh no. If you die while in a chaotic state, or teleport (through any mean), you'll be teleported to Floran Village.

When in Floran Village, your only option to get away from there, is to run till Dion, then talk to Trisha - Dion's Gatekeeper. Depending on your karma points, she'll give you more or less time to clear up that karma from the hunting ground of your choice.

If you fail to get rid of your karma within the given time frame, she'll teleport you back to Floran Village. From that point, Trisha will spawn a monster for you, somewhere around Floran Village, and will give you a few minutes to kill it - along his position on your map.

She'll continue to spawn monsters for you till you completely get rid of your karma. But that's in no way to help you. Seeing how far from you she's spawning the monsters, it looks more like she's trying to get you killed!

Gatekeepers:
- Allows you to temporarily lower your level.
- Allows you to regain back your original level.
- Allows teleportation to Towns, Villages, Arenas and Low, Medium and High Level Hunting Grounds.
- Displays Hunting Ground high population indicator when a zone becomes too crowded.

Temporary Deleveling
By temporary deleveling, you can take part in activities limited to certain levels. That can be pretty much anything - farming a specific item in a certain zone, participating in a mini-game limited to certain levels and grade of gears, hunting down lower level raid bosses or newbies orcs, etc., etc., etc.

Few things you should know:
- When temporarily deleveling, your character skills are temporary deleveled as well.
- The temporary level will remain active till you ask a Gatekeeper to get back on your original level.

Buffers:
In need of magical assistance? Beryl, our Town Buffer, got you covered!
Image

Skills Changes:
While Luna remained loyal to the true Lineage II for the most part, there's always room for improvement - anywhere and everywhere. Certain skills / classes were given or taken some love.

Below, a (non exhaustive) list of things we have performed changes on:

Enhanced Blade Dancers
Additional self-effects were added to certain dances on Luna. Spectral Dancers benefits of double effects on a few of their dances. For example, when buffing up yourself with "Dance of Warrior", instead of receiving a 12% P. Atk increase, you'll be getting a 24% P.Atk increase.

Below, the list of affected Dances:
- Dance of Warrior
- Dance of Inspiration
- Dance of Mystic
- Dance of Fire
- Dance of Fury
- Dance of Concentration
- Dance of Light
- Dance of Aqua Guard
- Dance of Earth Guard
- Dance of the Vampire
- Dance of Alignment

Enhanced Sword Singers
Additional self-effects were added to certain songs on Luna. Sword Muses benefits of double effects on a few of their songs. For example, when buffing up yourself with "Song of Earth", instead of receiving a 25% P. Def increase, you'll be getting a 50% P. Def increase.

Below, the list of affected Songs:
- Song of Earth
- Song of Life
- Song of Water
- Song of Warding
- Song of Wind
- Song of Hunter
- Song of Invocation

Enhanced Summoners
Several changes were made to the classes using summons, to make them more enjoyable.

All skills summoning pets have had their cooldown-handling modified:
- The cooldown begins when the summon is un-summoned (or dies) instead of triggering when summoning the pet.

Buffs on your summons do not disappear on death:
- Once your summon have been buffed up, the buffs will remain there till you decide to get rid of them.

Enhanced Cancel and Steal Skills
To ensure you do not run back to town once every few minutes to get back some buffs that were canceled and/or stolen during PvP, the steal and cancel effects were customized so that they only temporarily cancel/steal a target's effects instead of permanently.

Enhanced Buffs
Casting a buff was made impossible unless you are in party with the targeted player. (to avoid having a Hierophant sticking on your behind all week long "de-buffing" you with Kiss of Eva, Regeneration, etc., etc., etc. ^1)

Any of the buffs that cannot be obtained from Beryl, our Town Buffer, have been changed so that their effect remains active indefinitely (that is, if the cool down is lower than the effect duration) for as long as you stay in range to the buffer. If you run out of range, you are given up to a minute to get back in range before the effect is terminated.

- Invigor

Note about this change:
To avoid having you feel the need to level up plenty of classes to feel competitive in PvP, we wanted to make sure nobody would go through the headache of doing so by making it hardly possible to benefit of these effects unless you actually are playing with someone that is playing one of these classes.

Enhanced Herbs
More information on this will be available shortly.

Keeping things classic
Even though Luna followed, for the most part, retail-updates till High Five, several of their changes and additions did not, and will not, make it in. That's valid for the characters classes and skills, too.

Hellbound
- Subclass Certification did not make it in on Luna.

Gracia Final:
- Changes on Prophecy of Wind, Water and Fire, did not make it in on Luna.
- Changes on the Tyrants Totems did not make it in on Luna.

High Five:
- Titans, Grand Khavataris, Duelists, Dreadnoughts & co were not given the ability to rush.
- Overlords were not given Chain Heal.
- Titan's Frenzy was not changed.

Additional Note:
- Even though plenty of changes and additions still made it in, not all of them were left untouched. For instance, recently added skills having 20.000+ power were modified.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Is there mana potions on Luna?
Yup, we've got Mana Potions! here is how they work:

Lesser Mana Potion
A magical, liquid medicine that restores your MP by 25 every second for 15seconds. Cannot be used while you are both - flagged for PvP and in combat.

Mana Potion
A magical, liquid medicine that restores your MP by 50 every second for 30seconds. Cannot be used while you are both - flagged for PvP and in combat.

Greater Mana Potion
A magical, liquid medicine that instantly restores your MP to full. Cooldown: 5minutes.

Both the lesser and regular mana potions cannot be used while you are flagged for PvP and in combat. A draft:
- You use a potion.
- You hit a monster and enter in combat. The potion is still effective.
- You hit a player and become flagged for PvP. You're also in combat. The potion fades off.
- You try using a potion, but you are still flagged for PvP and in combat. The potion is un-useable.

Few seconds passes, you're no longer in combat - but still flagged for PvP. The potion becomes use-able. Same if you're no longer flagged for PvP but still in combat.

Basically, the restriction will only apply while you are in the middle of a PvP.

Which version is it going to be?
The client you'll need to connect to Luna will be the last revision we were given prior Dwarven Village was destroyed - known as High Five. However, do not expect Luna to be anything looking like your casual High Five server. That's not the case. Luna is different. Many settings were altered, many changes were not followed or made differently.

Using the High Five client gives us the freedom to pick which of the updates officially released we really want in - a version prior that one wouldn't. Which is why we use that revision. But Luna is not an High Five server. Luna is how we believe Lineage II should be. Love it or hate it!

...

This thread, just like Luna itself, is still being worked on. Updates and or changes/adjustments may show up any time! keep an eye!
