Well after months of deliberation, talking to friends, and a few of the larger clans (private server) I decided that there is definitely room in the community for a good C5 [OFF] server. I have been around a long time and played Azure from Aeriths birth.

We will be using Azures C5 files and protection. Any of you that played Azure know there were a few things that needed to be fixed, mainly the C5 clan system. We are in the process of completing and testing it as well as a few other small fixes and adds.

There is no ETA as of yet still have too much work to do on the site and the server to give one. We have a couple of awesome Devs on-board for the project, 1 for extender development, 1 for scripts, and a webdev. All of them have been actively working on and developing OFF files for years and they are great at it.

Staff

I am looking for a few forum moderators and future general GMs and one event GM. I prefer you have OFF GM experience but am willing to train if I feel you are a good fit with our team. For forum mods and GMs you need to have very good English both written and spoken. You also need to be on our IRC at all times when in the server or on the forums.

The server will be hosted on the East Coast (NA) where latency and routing is at a premium for North America as well as most of Europe. rates I have not decided on but most likely 8x-25x.

I expect the inevitable "L2 is dead", "and server will fail", "C5 is too old", etc.. But please guys try to keep it to a minimum and keep the thread fairly clean. I know the L2 community runs on flames but please try. If you are tired of short term servers and hopping than help us spread the word. The L2Nostalgia team can put in all the hard work in the world but to succeed we need the community to back us.

L2 will never die it just gets PKed from time to time, and so it begins again.

For those that have already started asking and speculating:

L2Nostalgia is not in any way affiliated with Azure and nobody from Azure is part of L2Nostalgia. I simply thought a quality C5 server would be welcome in the community and contacted Aderyn about the files since I figured they had no plans for them. Turns out I was right.

Well, 8x is low rates and 25x its mid...there's a huge difference!
Low rate servers can last long, but dunno how many people are willing to grind these days.
You can always start a poll about rates, to see what people prefer...

yeah I still am trying to decide whether to go Low or Mid. Myself I am a low rate player, always have been so I am biased that way. But mids seem to be more popular these days.

well 8x c5 is hardcore , even if the new chronicles sux in general they have a few good things like XP quests and the RB lvling stile in tauti is great to , so not many are willing to grind these days cause grind aint funny just depressing

i think you can increase RB XP w/o customizing the server to much , also rbs are fun and if you have a reason to do them all the better . plus there will be more pvps and thats a good thing cause community is highly retarded these days ...lvl>gear>quit

Yeah being a old-school low rate player it is extremely hard for me to consider anything over 8x XP but I am realizing that people just don't have that much grind left in them. We tentatively set the rates at 25x for now but are discussing it on our forums. If we open with that rate and find that people are reaching end-game and starting to quit we can extend things fairly quick with new areas items etc..

Things are rolling along awesome. We decided to develop our own extender for this as it works better for us this way. So the server will be a hybrid between our Extender and Azures scripts and client protections.

Work is going well! We can use some experienced C5 players for closed beta when the time comes. Let us know on our forums if you are interested in helping.

Keep the good work. A C5 low rate server will be very welcome these days.

About the grind itself, I don't think it'll be a big problem, things got to easy on these new games. I kinda miss the l2 grind.

That seems to be the general consensus so far, which actually has quite surprised me If you have time register on our forum and participate in the poll on rates. The more voytes the more accurate representation of what the community wants

So tell me, after azure there was another c5 server with the same files and failed. How are u sure that it want be the same ? I'm not saying that it will fail, but what will u add to make the same azure back then. I mean will u be able to convince all those good clans to come back ?

Just voted on the rate poll, I chose 1~5x but I would also be cool with 5~10. Don't mind those guys talking about big clans and stuff, l2 has a way to bring back the players who really loved the game, they'll come back eventually if the server is really good.

The major thing that kept some of the big clans from joining Insomnia as far as I know was that the C5 clan system was not finished same as Azure. We have finished the clan system as well as Pagans temple. 2 of the major complaints with azure files. We are only using some of Azures scripts the extender is our own development.

At this time I know of 2 large clans (50+) already that are planning on coming and if they come others will as they are well known. But who knows the l2 community is hit and miss these days. All we can do is do our best to give people a great server and community and hope that it is well received.
