It'd be very stupid to keep password in clear-text in database, usually you keep only so called "hash" of a password. And hashing is considered one way process, you can't revert a hash to a password.

If so, even if there's a leakage, passwords are safe.

Oh, unless you use passwords like "12345". Even if you can't revert hash to a password, you can still try hashing usual ones (like "12345" mentioned) and see if hash matches. Special programs can check hundreds of such passwords under a minute.

Always use 8-lettered passwords with special characters. Breaking such ones requires either thousands of years, or uber-super-duper-cluster composed of thousands of PlayStations 3 (-;

well actually the file has hashed pws and clear text pws (ya i checked it)
I guess older accounts have clear text and there were many of them
Even managed to log on some 8x GH with s80 ;<

I just heard around 1month ago or so that asterios was down for a day and after that there was an annoucment stateing that they are going to get closed by innova or something before they went to normal service again...?

Did that result in the developers closing their site and not selling the files anymore or did they just change the name of the project?
