| Post subject: | which is best? duelist or hellknight?! |
i'm a newbie in Lineage2 i'm starting to like the gameplay but i'm not sure what char to chose? i want a melee character which could tank and own! 
which is best? ..duelist or hellknight? or? ..and pls tell me why? thanks! ~ hope to hear for ur good suggestions, i'll be waiting.. ~ email me too @ robkikazz@gmail.com |

the duelist is not a tank 
but it can take damage and own in pvp as for hellknight,it has some pretty good skills too dependes on the playstyle you like.you like to tank, go for hellknight.you like to own in pvp with lots of skills,go duelist |

Duelist is really an excellent PvPer while he have MP
the HellKnight is a pain in the ass to kill but don't make enough damages to kill a duelist i think except if his DP is out honestly, in a pvp, the result will depend of how smart you play your class, i think they have same chance to win at long range, duelist can win before the hellknight is on him but DP run speed is high so if duelist choose to kill DP before the hellknight, hellknight will be in close range and so be able to win (arrest, shield stun, touch of death ...) |

shortrange means melee longrange means his ranged skills like sonic blaster or something like that |

The Hell Knight is actually a combo of tank/summoner. He is the weakest tank of all. The best tank in PvE is definetely the elven Temple Knight. Paladin and Shilien Knight are by far the best tanks available. Paladin gets enormous HP/CP bonuses at higher level plus self and target heal, great skills and good strenght. Shilien Knight is a fun character to play and a great tank and very good in PvP as well. Has the best attack strenght but its a bit slower. Performs excellent in PvP to my knowledge when assisting a party. Can enter Ultimate Defense and aggro the enemies. While they are all trying to scratch him the rest of his party kills them. Read a bit about each before you make a decision. |

well, thanks for the comment bladereaper.. but some says that DA is a great char.. i just don't want to tank, i want to own as well.. ^^, |

dolla dont get me wrong. any character can be awesome if you play it well. Such is the case of the DA as well. But if you play a DA well and your opponent plays his Paladin/SK well (to give you an example) the DA will die. The DA's primary source of strength is it's summon. It's hard when you have to rely primarily on the AI to assist you in combat because you cannot fully control it as you would a character itself. For example when playing vs a class with Betray your own summon may end up eating you alive or when playing vs Eva's Saint (for example) your summon may be erased. You must consider the fact that are a close combat fighter so you want a class that is really good at close combat itself without having to worry about an assistant. And if you ask me Paladin or Shilien Knight is the best for that. SK has a lot of skills and can use drain HP from a distance as well returning 1/3 of the damage to his own HP. Not to mention his cubics, Lightning Strike skill and angle of shield defense which is broader/wider than for human tanks. |

yes.... thats correct, but there are some tricks to avoid that... for example "restore life" skill of bishops restore 30% of hp regardless of buffs the guy is carrying (if you have 10k max hp you'll receive 3k heal with whatever buffs you have), balance life, body of avatar also... and paladins have touch of life that restores instantaniously 50% of max hp and boosts regeneration to +200 per ticket so if they are smart they can change to a health weapon to activate angelic icon and touch of life then change to the pvp weapon for max hp increase... |

Dualist pro can't kill DA pro ? see? DA TOD and slam ,root, DP att and resumon a new DP if DA wear SOM SA acument you can sum DP quickly with fotitue sum DP will be incorrupt |
