Post subject:  Help me and such --> Paladin
Hi, my server will get wiped, and then i would like to reroll as paladin...im tired of nuker/cardi/cat :D
Its a x6 Hellbound server, off-like.
Im mainly going to tank, not act as fake dd...Only take damage on Farming/catas/RBs

So i have a few quick questions, cause i never played on tank (Not even any other heavy armor class :D):

---> Paladin dyes...

I was thinking +4 dex +4 con...but i think its not good cause of aggro :X Help me!!!

---> Paladin Equips
B grade? Doom or BW?
A Grade? DC, NM or Maj?

---> Weapons SA
Focus, Haste, Health?
i probably will not have adenas for 1 of each, so whats a MUST?

search is for pussies right?

don't down your str, maybe for a lil con but it's useless to do unless you're always up to rbs
b-grade on hellbound? buy an avadon or zubei, but even then i'd rather go with plated light
for a-grade dc or nm, it's still somewhat supporter era

health is the must for a tank, anyone that has a common sense knows that, other are just for farming if u're really into that, u may also want to get a risk haste cursed dagger for banishing

i would go +str and some dex tbh ;)
doom heavy
dc or mj heavy
focus

doubt focus will be better for him than health as a tank . dex is horrible for tanking imo , you won't get much more agro with it whereas con will keep you alive more . after all , he did say he wants to tank , not pretend he's doing damage

for dyes go +4 con -4dex +4str - 4 dex , tho you can drop the str one if you feel you hit way too slow .for b grade go doom or avadon , a grade dc .use a health wep

@topic:tell us for what do u need that tank
tanking?
if u have enough adena go for doom heavy and keep it till s grade
get a health weapon for tanking
tanking dyes are +4con-4str(a must) and if u can stand in position with ur shield infront of u so u could block more hits-->+4dex-4str
+4wit-4int imo wouldnt hurt

as for lvling-->hit martyrs and then continue pwning undeads

PVP is only a face of L2....
when u play in low-rate servers off-like its not everything about PVP...
you need to farm/party/go catas/oly/solo/play the minigame/RB - and mainly, in my clan I will tank on exp-partys and RBPartys...

So i've decided to go on health weapon and Doom/DC heavy sets.

About dyes im still with some doubts:
i was thinking going for +4wit-4int/+4con-4str

would that be lowering my STR too much?aint that bad to keep aggro? or is the difference (-4) not that important?

I played a tank on retail a few years ago and now i just returned on a x10 private server to play this wonderful game again. I'm now playing up a new tank and I already noticed that aggro doesn't work the same way anymore as it used to be, you can't just stand and spam agression to hold aggro but you must actually do some damage as well. Going -str woudl result in you loosing your target on the raidbosses with a bit more hp.
I would guess a tank already get decent hp even when going -con and our survivability is not based on hp but more of neglecting damage in various ways. With +str i will be better in pvp and on raid bosses i hope I have ahealer anyways and he wont have to heal me more just cause i have less hp..

Seeing how this is a paladin thread I might as well ask what it is that gives Paladins so much atk speed later on, been tryign to find it but havent seen anything below lv 80 and I cant find a list for 80+ skills.
