Hello everyone, i am new on L2 and i wanna ask u for a good server and all the steps i need to log in. thx :)

dunno man , search some tutorial about l2 1st , and also try some low rates/ oficial is the best lineage2.com , but if u dont want to pay , just try some l2off low rates:
l2dex,azuregaming,abyss,bfdr
raidfight,dragon network

SEARCH :)

w/e if u wanna try some PvP , go on infinitel2.com (them got some good tutorials for newbi players)

you ought to start with a friend or a helpful clan and on a serv that is 5x or lower, possibly gracia since it's the best newbie helper chronicle
there are some IL and a lot off HB offmode servs though, i suggest trying out raidfight, for that there's a connection instruction.

I want free servers, i played wow, and i'm not a begginer in mmorpg, and there all i need to do was to register on a server and put the realmlist and play, here i see isnt that way, i want just to find a server and to play on it, cuz i registered on abyss and cant log in ... i need to do something else? perhaps i need to patch.....so tell me a low or normal xp rate server, and thx for reply

is a low rate , l2 java (is free)

1) create account
2) downloade the host and set it
3) if u already instaled Lineage 2 Gracia final client , u can just login in and play (if u have other client instaled , just make 1 update)

http://l2.hopzone.net/ <---- here u can see many l2 servers
or just use google , dont forgot also about tutorials and some friends in game

Ah...about abyss I'm ur man ;)
Well, u havre to know important things about L2:
OFF servers: servers that use official code
EMU servers: servers with emulated code (made by them), specially java a.k.a. L2Java (L2J)

On l2j servers u often need to modify ur hosts file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc) so u can connect

Abyss uses their own code type, but in the last months they have been in NCSoft's aim, so now u need to edit the hosts file to play on abyss too :)

All u need to do is just open it with notepad and put this in the last line:

85.112.114.104 auth-fow.theabyss.ru

All the crap with a # before is ignored, so u can even delete it, just leave the things without #
So in the end "my" hosts file looks like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost

85.112.114.104 auth-fow.theabyss.ru

I can't save the file hosts after i paste:

188.40.71.172 L2authd.lineage2.com
78.47.172.99 nProtect.lineage2.com

I put these 2 lines at the bottom and when i save it sais that "Cannot create the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file. Make sure that the path and the file name are correct." can u explain me what do to, mariolinho ???

dude raidfight is shit i played there...there is only about 700 ppl online and mostly shops which is very bad for low rate..i suggest you to go for www.bfdr.eu i think you will love it...more than 3k ppl on each server...the how to connect guide is there for you

many nobs are here :)) , dont listen all them...

Just go in system32/drivers/etc -> Hosts , and open it with notepad or something like that , then past there the host file , and save it , should work

*1)he wants gracia final server
2)some1 new in l2 dont need 1k or 3k or 10k players to learn l2 , 100-500 - god comunity is enought , and a good server like RF...

i already enter www.bfdr.eu and maked an account, then when i press download at Client Updater:Download - Perlhosting it doesnt open at all, but i download Quick Patch: Mirror1 and worked. I get an Bfdr.exe, i update all the night and in the morning when i log in and choose server, there was 2 on and 2 down, BFD Reborn and BFD Eternal were Light at Traffic and it doesnt open when i press confirme.....dunno what to do next...this is The Kamael : The 1st Throne......bla bla....i made a mistake??? i wait for a reply... :roll: [/u]

I propose you to went some lineage 2 sites to read something about.
L2 have different versions, since C4, C5 interlude, kamael (this mostly are to old to find server with them), gracia I, gracia II, gracia II: Final

First you must look for server that you want to play. Than, find out what client (game) it use-if it is gracia II: Final, u can use any client and than just check files so they update automaticly. In other case, you must find that client on torrents, rapidshare or whatever and download. On some servers, on mainpage you can find link to download "System Folder" and switch them, or link/instuction how to change your host files (you know probably about it)

on the begining you can try easy classes to play (I mean in exping, not in pvp :P), like mage, summoner or gladiator, eventually tyrant. But its your choose, and Im sure you will create few characters to see difference in gameplay :)

ask for more, and remember... on the begining you should read some webpages :D
