Hows it all going guys! Seems I'm coming a bit delusional, but I no longer get a kick outta this game now......
I remember some epic pvp.... from when I was lucky enough to play on teon with & against world famous clans, to my first private l2 server(c4 abyss x3!!!!), some crazy crafting luck(5 out of 5 arcana maces on nanaki lol), and meeting loads of amazing people!
Its just nowadays.... I find this game boring! All the servers, while they may seem completely different from a staff point of view, files and rates... are finally all the same. There is very little entertainment to be had and there is no real passion being placed into this game anymore. Its all just a stupid "no-life fest" now. Everybody has to be first(epics, lvl 85, s grade blah blah blah).... sadly it seems the mature ones of this game have almost all moved on now, away to different things/titles.

Now the point of me really posting this, is coz I wanna see how many people(if any) actually share my thoughts on this. What has happened to this once amazing game? And does anybody know of anywhere where we could possibly gain some of the passion again!!!

I felt like that once and I quit for about 1 year.
I came back to L2 around 1 year ago and been jumping from server to server since I havent found any decent one.
For me, the latest chronicles did it. They broke the game that I loved, the game is still enjoyable yes, but its not something I would nolife for. If I started playing L2 today, without any mmorpg experience (like when I started 4 years ago) I wouldnt last 1 week.
What I liked about this game was that medieval feeling, moreso than a fantasy feeling. I like fantasy, I really really love it, Im an absolute fantasy nerd, but I think games completely overdo it. I prefer a more Lotr/elder scrolls scenario, and that was exactly what I found in Lineage. The game system felt so right, without stupid gimmicks, quests and useless mechanics.

I've also come to realize that its just not directly the game's fault. The community changed. People have to adapt to the new features, and for me things like CPs, as much as I like them, destroyed the community in most servers. Theres no clan, or more importantly, ally feeling. Theres only CPs, u play with 8 ppl instead of 100. Everything now is mechanic, set in stone. I miss the times when u made parties with whatever u found. U took castles, made subs and noblesse, made hige mass pvps in C grade, B grade, A grade. I miss nukers with Dc robe and OE homu. I miss draconic and running for my life from a frenzied titan.
Now, ppl dont pvp, they form parties and farm in their corners, for the newest s247327687421 gear. No, they cant pvp in C grade, its not decent, They need money, money, money. Ppl forgot how it was, when it was hard to grind. When u had to solo without newbie buffs, wolves. Just u, 2 buffs and health pots. U would find a PP in heavy armor and duals, soloing, party him and feel like a god when u have the most miserable buffs.

When I say this game is like wow, I dont mean the skills are the same, or the quests, or anything. Just the play style. It IS like wow. I watch quite a lot of wow, I like to watch arenas. But wow was made like that from scratch. U cant take a game like L2 c4/interlude and turn it into wow. The playstyle has changed dramatically. NC turned this into an instanced pve quest fest, ruined the pvp, ruined on of the most enjoyable parts of the game, oly. For many chronicles the game was utterly imbalanced, not fun, grind fests all over. They wanted to make the game like all others, but they cant, because L2 is unique in essence. It will never be like wow, or any other game. I miss the unique and original L2.

For that reason, L2 got boring.

i feel you Amrx! its just words cannot express the feeling that you had when you were playing in c1-c4! that time the l2 game was different. i remember lvling my char, in dion, waiting for a party to go to RaidBoss. i didnt care who i was going with nor did anyone. we were just parting with some very dissimilar people with different nick looking for a dangerous adventure. god knows what we were thinking that time.

@razveck/merlord You got me misty eyed thinking about finding raids low raids with random ass people!!! How cdl was almost a must since we only had one elder focusing on the tank and we had 2 make our mana last with as much bang as possible to kill the raids!!!
And I remember somebody sold a +12 homuk for about something stupid.... 300kk it was I believe in c4abyss? This was when you could buy a SoM+acu for about 200kk..... it was just damn cool!!!

I agree with what you all said, not so much @hetea(no offense ), since it brought new stuff into a game what was really lacking and was biased to 2 classes(archer+necro ).
About those cp's..... It has destroyed the game if you really think about it.... back in pre kamael they were such a rare thing.... everybody was in the ally chat making parties..... Those who were online, got in the party.

If I had the knowledge lol, I would have made my own server a while ago. Say... x12 rates(easy for all to stomach), no buffer, no shop and somehow make a strong will to get all to play with your clan/ally, not a cp. Also natually it would have to be the hellbound chronicle!!!! Those hellbound fights were epic, and the fact that it kinda forced you to work with your enemies to level it so you can get stronger to beat them..... it was just relaxing!

Nah dude, you never got the reason of why I posted here on the first place. Im not playing for the last 3 weeks, just wanted 2 see how many get this nostalgia rush dude!

too many hours of my life spent for nothing particulary useful(kk except learning how to flame in 4 foreign languages which would make in total 9 langs i can flame in..thats awesome)

imho i could spend those days of my childhood doing way more fun and useful things

I remember i used to have so much fun while playing L2 back in c2/c3 times with my RL friends, i guess because it was my first "serious" mmorpg game and everything was new to me. After 2 years or so the "passion" slowly went away, same as all my RL friends stopped playing. I guess i spent 7 years playing this game, trying to get that feeling back but somehow i never did even tho i changed so many servers. I tried to quit so many times but somehow i keep comming back even tho i dont really want to.
Im really thankful to Amrx for this topic since it made me realise once again that, the feeling which i had in the old days is gone and will never come back. Playing L2 for me turned in to a routine, its not even fun anymore and i really dont know why i even do it.



You have no idea how many times i thought about it and i still have regrets for wasting so much time for just sitting in front of computer, when i should be chasing girls around!

GS the difference between u and me (at least) became clear now. I dont regret one minute of playing L2.

I agree with GS, I wish I didnt have PC back then.

I know L2 closed some doors for me, but it has opened others directly or indirectly. And probably if it wasnt L2 it would be some other game cause Ive always played games, since I was 5 or 6.
