| Post subject: | Attribute system changes in Freya |
Situation before the update: In case of PvP - Player vs Player - defence attribute is grater then the offence one: no damage increase - attack attribute is between 0 and 75: damage increase between 0 and 40% - attack attribute is between 150 and 299: damaged increased by 70% - attack attribute is greater then 300: 100% damage increase In case of PvE - Player vs Monster: ![]() Horizontal axis - defensive Element Vertical axis - damage suffered Changes in Freya update: 1. Player with 0..300 attack attribute hits the player with 0 attribute defence ![]() 2. Player with 150 attack attribute hits the player with 0..600 attribute defence ![]() 3. Player with 300 element on his weapon attacks the player with 0..600 defence ![]() 4. The player is attacked by the monster Lesser Giant Scout (water attack), attack range is 700 ![]() As we can see the resist cap is reached when we have about 170 attribute defence, but the damage reduction is only 20% 5. The player is attacked by Lesser Giant Soldier (water attack) 20 water resist - 498-902 damage 50 water resist - 498-884 damage 140 water resist - 458-831 damage 260 water resist - 469-809 damage 380 water resist - 414-764 damage 470 water resist - 421-735 damage Since the damage variance is really high it's not easy to draw any conclusion, but if we get our calculations based on the lower number of damage received, we'll see that maximum damage reduction is still 20% in the range between 260 and 380 elemental resistance. Summary: 1) For PvP if you had regular armor set with 60 elemental resist on each part (without putting additional attributes) you would be hit by 300-attribute weapon for the same damage as the players with 200+ resist have been hit in Epilogue. 2) If you were equiped with armor where 3 defence attribute bestowed on each part (120-180 defence to each element) when (under the common buffs) you would be hit by 300-attribute weapon for the same damage as the players with ~280 resist have been hit in Epilogue. 3) To get to the maximum elemental defence possible (PvP) you got to have at least 360 resist to each element, which is quite hard to aquire. And even in this case you would get only 20% damage reduction compared to standard 120-180 resistance sets 4) In PvE maximum damage reduction (20%) is reached when the player bears 120-360 resistance to respective element. i love ppl that comment something that they didnt even tasted. changes in atribute system are good and l2 needed it like human need air. pvps are longer and more funniest. forget about vort+slug deadly combo, bs for 10k or something like that. and it is not only my opinion. everyone that have played freya thinks the same (ppl that i know). |

I like the changes as far as PvP is concerned, although the weaker melee fighters became even more worthless. On the other hand PvE just became much harder at the higher levels... |
