Hello, I'm looking info in order to start as a tank in classic 1.5 (for now, further patches will be applied later ofc).
So I know SK and DA are the kings, but they are kinda offensive tanks. I would like to make a pure tank that I wouldn't be scared to spam aggro non stop on enemies in PvP - a living meatshield.
I've heard that TK can do pretty well in such cases (although there's nothing else for them to do, except when they get arrest).
Second choice (even though I really dont like humans) is paladin, which is only to be prefered on 2.5 when they get "party ud". But again I dont know if paladin is as tanky as TK.
People tend to call TK the pure tanks, but why is that if paladin has more defensive self buff + a lot more con from race?
Looking forward to your answers!

TK is the best by far! You have the elf movement speed this means you can do long trains without dying, You have 360 degrees shield def this means you can block attacks coming from behind while doing trains, you have cubics that heal you and do hate aura while you do trains, you have instant cast cure poison/bleed you can use while doing your trains. Humans don't have any of this. They are just bad tanks with a lot of P.attack and hp.

A bit late to the party, but... Even though I'd agree that TK is generally most 'tough', the other options are just more versatile. I have some hourage on Classic and I can tell you that almost nobody plays TK's on Classic, because if you just want to play OP tank then you pick DA, if you want offensive/debuff oriented tank then you pick SK and if you want defensive/support oriented tank then you pick Pala. TK is mostly for enthusiasts...

But you DO have much better chance of getting hero because competition is often scarce
