http://crowfall.com/ Crowfall is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by ArtCraft, described as a "Throne War Simulator". The game aims to be a fusion of action MMORPGs and real-time strategy games. @ Wikipedia WHAT IS CROWFALL? Crowfall is a new type of online experience. We call it a Throne War Simulator, and it's a mix of a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) and a large scale strategic simulator of a fantasy world. Crowfall is different in three fundamental ways: TIME, DESTRUCTION and POWER. The Worlds of Crowfall feature unique maps, rules, and victory conditions. Couple updates (first of all, for quick Crowfall intro - IGN Wiki): - Game already has more than $7M of budget, 120 000 registered supporters and open beta ( free tests ! ) is announced for this winter, all required is just registration on the site. - Frequent changes of race/class/gender will be likely - account is tied to crow-spirit, so after death you don't respawn but fly to find a new body!? (if there's no alive friends or spare corpse nearby...From NY Reveal). Also, bodies will be crafted (! - through necromancy skill) in qualities from white/green to legendary. - Crowfall has cartoony style - to enable battles with hundreds of players, with lots of physics and building / destruction (voxels). Here is how early tests of that building tool look like. The game will have very strong RTS feel - strategy, politics & economy will matter as much as - if not more than - individual player skill. Here's couple new videos, starting with the Duelist (it's simple: you mix guinea pig with Van Helsing, and give it stealth): ...then TheLazyPeon's new preview: ...and some PvP: The game is still in alpha, open beta seems to be pushed back to late 2017. Tho they got 150 000+ registered accounts by now, and the budget just went over $10M. |
