Hon's community is actually really bad. I play it occasionally. I've been playing since mid closed beta (closed beta with 10k players, you can imagine that was anything BUT closed beta). Then open beta came with 50k players and then they settled at 20k.
It's a really good game imo, but S2 needs to plug their heads up straight and balance the heroes they already have instead of making a new one each 2 weeks/1 month. There's a hero sillhouette which is retardedly imbalanced as damage output just because he's squishy. Shit doesn't work like that.

It's the same thing as if we'd have a class in l2 which 1-hit kills anything, but gets 1-hit killed by anything. Would be imbalanced.

Game is very well balanced atm, even the new heroes are surprisingly well made at first try. S2 learned a lot in the last year. And the game settled at 20k only when it went live, after a short period it passed 30k. At last christmass 10$ sell it passed 40k and nowadays at rush hours (european evening) it usually goes up to 45-46k.

Looking at the trend, i now understand why RIOT is so mad.

Not really... the game is still missing key features and many refinements to the existing ones. I'd rather have a good game that allows me to do pretty much anything gameplay/client wise, than having lots of new heroes/items that are imbalanced or have buggy mechanics
But u are right about the number of players, at night there are usually 40k online easily

Compared to the heroes they used to put out, this new ones are exceptionally well (compared to those). Of course they still need minor touches, but at least they are very well playable. The game is well enough balanced for the competitive side and that's what matters.

The competitive scene is a very very small percentage of the player base, and they know it. If u watch the podcast u know they are aware of that, and with that said, they dont make changes specifically for the pro players. The thing is, sometimes pros exploit small advantadges of game elements, thats what makes them pro, they take advantadge of what is given to them. That makes S2 realise balance problems. But the game isnt made for pros, dont be illuded by that.

Game isn't that balanced imo. But I disagree with you razveck on the competitive scene. They do take the competitive scene into consideration because that's the cheapest way to advertise the game. If they would have disregarded the competitive region, then the advertisement would have been really bad.

But anyway it's a good game, but I think dota2's release will fuck up hon's population pretty harshly.
